Having owned an Old Home (1892) it was a pleasure staying at the Queen Ann. The room, 152, was very nice with the tall ceilings and Antebellum charm, well appointed and very clean. The mattress sags in the center making it uncomfortable, but since we were only staying one night we made the best of it.. When asked if I...

Dear Guest, Thank you for feeling the Old South Charm of the Queen Anne. I do appreciate you taking time out to review our property. We have noted your comment on the mattress, and have placed an order for a new set. But I must correct your comment about the Parking and the $50. We did not charge for parking,...

I booked the Queen Anne because my husband and I wanted to move outside the French Quarter for a couple of days after being in the Quarter for a 2-day meeting. Having done a lot of research on the neighborhoods, I chose the Garden District for its old-world beauty and upscale charm; and from the hotel's photos, we expected the...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind reveiw on the hotel room and property. I will certainly look into replacing any soiled upholstered chair as soon as possible. Even with the best fabric guard protection, hotel upolstered furniture does take a beating. As far as the neighborhood, I saw that you booked your room over the phone back in mid...

Booked our stay thru a 3rd party travel site. Check in was quick but you do have to walk around the corner a bit for the actual hotel (no biggie). Parking is free and in a fenced parking lot so seemed safe. When we got to the room our a/c was out and it was easily 90 degrees. I called...

I will admit I was a bit apprehensive from reading many of the reviews and hearing about staff. I had a DELIGHTFUL experience and will be returning in November. I have stayed at the Windsor Court (twice), the W Hotel, Crowne Plaza Astor(twice), and an airport hotel (SHeraton?) I had the most pleasant stay at this property. As a previous...

The great first. I was on the second floor, in the king size bed. It was spacious, warm, and lovely. The bed was its own massage for me. The view was pretty, looking out to the neighborhood. The bathroom was large, immaculate, and comfy. The room had a large closet. I could stand in it, spread out my arms to...

Dear Guest, THANK YOU for all the information about your stay and our neighborhood. I am truly humbled by your description of our rooms. I appreciate the information on the wi-fi, and will certainly look into seeing why it was not working. I know it was down for 2 days while we upgraded from DSL service to U-Verse service. Not...

Do not go to the Queen Anne. it's like going on an internet date when they don't look like their photos. They told us it was smoke free when we booked. But when we got to our room, it reeked off smoke and smelled like an ashtray. The room had stains everywhere and was overall disgusting. We asked to leave...

Dear Readers, Facts vs Fiction is always the other side of the story. It is amazing that guests think 1 mile ( 16 city blocks) to the French Quarter is basically in another city, and that 1 block to the Streetcar line is too far to walk. I am not going to stoop to his level and tell him to...

The room was awesome. Clean and beautiful . Parking was free but very limited . This was our first time at a bed and breakfast . Breakfast is only served from 7-9 and it is served outside in the heat. It was told to us on check in that breakfast was served across the street from our room. When we...

Dear Guest, Thank you for the compliment on the room, however, I am a bit confused as to the other comments. 1. Limited parking? We have 2 parking lots. The main lot that has nearly 50+ spaces, which is where the main registration lobby is, you must have seen this one when you arrived, and the smaller, 2ndary lot, across...

We stayed at the Prytania Oaks Hotel three years ago and liked it (especially with free parking). This time we decided to stay at the Queen Ann across the street. The room is spacious and the ceiling is high. We like it better than the Prytania Oaks where rooms are smaller. The building has a certain historic charm. Only a...

Quiet and clean place to stay. Close to St. Charles Streetcar when you get tired of walking. Wish we had more time in New Orleans... I would definitely stay here again. Free continental breakfast at The Oaks across the street was nice as well.

The room was very nice, comfy bed and clean. It is very close to St Charles Ave. and the streetcar, which is the best way to get around New Orleans. There is a Walgreen's nearby where you can buy the Jazzy pass for the streetcars. The only negative is that room service sucks. All they do is change the towels...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
