I stayed at this hotel alone in August of 2016. I was vacationing with my family but they stayed at the Doubletree which was a lot more expensive. This hotel is actually just down the street (literally a 3 minute walk) from the Doubletree FYI! Getting to the hotel was easy from MSY airport. It took about 30 minutes. Overall,...

This hotel is very close to the French Quarter, but far enough away not to be noisy from partiers or the street car. I would say it was OK -- some nice things, others not so great. For one, I paid for my two nights several months in advance. While I was checking in, I heard one of the front...

There are many positives about this property: It is located one block off Canal Street and, more importantly, right across the street from The Ruby Slipper. The staff is very friendly, informative and very professional. It is nice to check into a hotel and have the staff behave as if they are actually glad you are there. We stayed on...

We enjoyed staying at St Christopher's while travelling to make a move from Virginia to Texas. There was music In the streets and within walking distance to many fine restaurants and other night activities. It was a lovely experience to see New Orleans from the French Quarter area.

Loved everything about this hotel! The position was fantastic,it's only a few minutes' walk away from the French Quarter and also great for public transport from Canal Street! In 10 minutes you can also walk to the museums down Magazine Street! Even if it's in a central location, it's also very quiet at night so I was always able to...

This was our third trip to New Orleans and this was the closest we have stayed to the French Quarter. The hotel was great, as we do perfer the smaller hotels, which we think, offer more personal service. The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful in recommending restuarants . We were within walking distance to many local shops and...

This was the perfect location for our first trip to NOLA !! It was far enough away from the mess of Bourbon Street, but close enough to still walk over too and experience. Plus it was close to almost everything we wanted to see !! Lovely hotel, rooms were a decent size and the staff were helpful. We did get...

I must say the atmosphere was superb, and the location of our hotel was great for sight seeing along with shopping and Mercedes Dome. My fiancée and I will definitely be coming back. The rooms are clean and very comforting not to mention there is no noise at all. Oh and the breakfast dining area is solo clean and all...

We usually stay at New Orleans Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriot, but decided to give Best Western a try. This hotel is lovely! The location is perfect for easy walking to the French Quarter, streetcar stop, Aquarium, casino, multiple restaurants(the Ruby Slipper is across the street). The room was lovely: excellent decorations, comfortable bed, good size. Free wi fi. Valet was...

This hotel is in an excellent location for all the things we were interested in doing on our vacation. It is an easy walk to the French Quarter, easily accessible to the street car and bus, and easy walk to the riverfront. We also visited the WWII museum which was close by. You will not be able to find a...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
