I'd rather not tell anyone how much I loved this place because I don't want it to become popular and overpriced, or booked when I want to book it! Its been almost two weeks since we were there, and I still miss it! I want to live there!

So I'm torn between my selfishness and whatever word is the opposite, because I really want this place to stay under the radar. However, I owe it to the owners of this exotic Bywater sapphire to shine on a light on it. They asked me to. I shall oblige. There's a saltwater pool and jacuzzi out the back, theres a...

This place is the bomb. Some friends and I rented the entire place halloween weekend and it was a straight up blast. From location, to the salt water pool, to the cutest frenchie you'll probably ever meet, we had a spectacular time. Kelly and Mark are amazing hosts too. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem and if you want...

We have stayed in 4 times over the past few years when we came to visit our son and his wife. The Lookout is away from the tourist areas but that is more than made up for in the rates. They have a nice year round pool and cabana. Each room has a different decoration theme, such as the Elvis...

A beautiful Inn, with a relaxing backyard area that we spent a lot of time in. This was our first trip to New Orleans and wanted to be away from the noisy French Quarter, and this location was perfect. Just a short bus ride to all the action. We stayed 5 nights in the Mardi Gras Suite and I was...

This place looked enticing from reviews and photos and I'm so glad we gave it a try. We had the Mardi Gras suite and it was spotless, enormous and richly and eclectically decorated. The bathroom is huge--I've never had a couch in a hotel bathroom before! While we arrived too late to use the amazing pool, hot tub and bar...

I'm glad you enjoyed the bed and sheets and I apologize for the pillows. Thanks so much for the pillow recommendation. I'll check them out!...

The backyard of this wonderful Inn was almost enough to sell me for a five day trip to New Orleans. And it did not disappoint. Our group left six days later with unforgettable experience in the city thanks to such a wonderful home base in the Bywater. Our host Kelly was absolutely terrific and very responsive whenever there was an...

We stayed in the Mardi Gras and Bollywood Suites, which are both on the backside of the house, across the hall from each other, Our older kids (20's) stayed in one room, and we were across the hall, so a good set up for us. This was our first experience with an "airbnb". The Bywater area is part of the 9th Ward that was so badly damaged during Katrina. A comeback has been underway and there are several promising premises. The Lookout on Poland Ave is one of them. We had the Mardi Gras Suite which is beautifully appointed and very well maintained. Hey there! Thanks so much for taking the time to share a review of your recent stay at The Lookout. I'm glad you enjoyed the space and ambiance of the Mardi Gras Suite. Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
