Excellent location in Marigny, on a quiet street a 10-minute walk from Frenchman. Kim and Charlie, the on-site hosts, are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. This is NOT a five-star hotel, and the description on their web site is accurate of what to expect. This is a place where you can meet and socialize...

Great location in the Marigny area - It is quiet and walking distance from all the attractions on Frenchmen Street. Kim and Charlie, the caretakers make you feel right at home. This made the whole experience delightful. Would re-book here anytime.

My now-husband and I first stayed at the Creole Inn in 2012 during French Quarter Fest. When we decided to get married in New Orleans this year, we knew we wanted to stay here again. Except for one room (booked every year by the same guy for FQF), we booked the whole place! Our friends and family loved it and...

Hard to review. Very affordable and we loved the Bywater neighbourhood location within easy walk to Frenchman St and local food. The walk via the river and Chartres St into French Quarter was a bit longer but worth the effort. Parking on the street also simple and free. Downside was the lobby smell - not often aired and didn't sight...

My husband and I loved staying here for 2 night in April. It is tucked away in the quiet and quirky Marigny neighborhood and just a short walk away from Frenchmen's and the French Quarter. When we arrive, Kim, the host, greeted us warmly and gave us all the information to make us feel welcomed and ready to go explore....

The Old Historic Creole Inn was a pleasant surprise. I'm going to be honest and say that I was VERY hesitant about staying here because of other reviews and because of the way they present themselves on their website & in their responses to people on review sites. A lot of emphasis was on the fact that it wasn't a...

Dear Guest, We are so delighted that you submitted a review! I am also thrilled that you were honest and straightforward and you did your homework for traveling. So many people book properties without reading the reviews prior. We have had guest after guest to arrive at the Inn and tell us they "thought they booked a hotel" and "didn't...

We were cheerfully welcomed by the very personable Charlie who gave us a quick overview of the immediate area with about 5 recommendations for breakfast. (We've been to NO several times so didn't need a city breakdown.) Later in the day we met the equally hospitable Kim. Throughout our stay they were totally friendly & open and always willing to...

This is a quirky guesthouse in a great locations. Do not expect luxury; the beds took up almost all the space in our rooms, and you won't find the amenities you get in a fancy in. But the price is right, it's clean, the beds are fine, everything works -- and the location is great. It's a safe, easy walk...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
