Returning after 7 months to re-experience the sights & sounds of New Orleans and of the neighborhood of Creole Inn. Left last time as guests and welcomed back this time as old friends by Kim & Charley. Clean, comfy & cosy - like staying with family & friends. In the immediate neighborhood up to St.Claude & across to Esplanade Ave....

It depends on what you want. If you want to be pampered with silk sheets and a spa then this isn't the place for you- you will hate it. If you want a comfortable bed for a good night sleep, simple ambiance, great friendly service, want to be in the heart of New Orleans, and are on a budget, this...

This place is great for the price! I went with 3 of my friends (all college students). We stayed in the Plantation and Cowboy suites. The place was in walking distance of Bourbon St. and we even walked to Harrah's Casino. We did not drive or get a cab the whole time we were there because we could easily walk...

If you're deciding between here and The Ritz, this isn't the place for you. But If want to save money in a quiet, convenient location, this is the place! The caretakers are friendly and helpful, you can walk to everything, the neighborhood is clean and safe and the price is right.

This was the first time we have vacationed in New Orleans and stayed in something other than a chain hotel. We wanted a more unique experience with local flavor, and we got it! We felt as if we were staying in our childhood homes. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with all the bells and whistles, this...

I planned my trip a year in advance, so was able to get my room really cheap. Realized after that I booked the same weekend as the French Quarter Festival, so even better! The inn keeper was really nice and stayed out of our way. The inn and the rooms are old and simple. If you're looking to stay in...

Myhusband and i stayed 2 nights here. It was within walking distanceof the French quarter. You need to be prepared to climb stairs as this 2 story house has lots of them. The room was very cozy and quaint and we had a private bathroom. The shower is not made for tall people. Ms. Kim was very kind and helpful. We would...

Kim and Charley, the INNkeepers, were helpful and friendly. Charming place, a little off the beaten path, but only a 5 minute walk from buses and 10 minute walk from French Quarter. Great value for the price.

I stayed at the inn in march 2013 right after my cruise. I had picked the inn because of price and wanted to see new Orleans after our Holliday. Kim and Charlie made it feel like home. They made smores for the kids and even offered us dinner. Kim was very helpful on places we could eat as well thing...

We originally picked this place because it was such a great value. As it turns out, it was also a superb location, authentic feeling, and homey. If you are going to New Orleans and planning to stay out all day, we think this is the absolute best place you could stay. It is 4 blocks from Frenchmen Street and all...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
