Chateau Orleans is in the Heart of 'touristy' New Orleans. It's literally just hundreds of feet from restaurants, clubs, artsy-craftsy shops and basic necessities and bodega-style shopping. Considering its proximity to Bourbon Street, the facility is remarkably quiet. It's just the right distance from the partying. The room has lovely wood shutters on its many windows all around that allowed...

Initially walking into the room the furniture looked to be about 20 years old and not in a cool vintage-y way. The carpet was worn down and the threadbare couches sagged in such a defeated way it was almost sad to look at. I came down here with my parents and stayed in a one bedroom hotel room with a...

OMG!!! I called for simple hotel, airport and area information and spoke with a young lady at 504-524-8410 and her response was "girl you have a phone google it" are you serious. I called back the next day hoping to speak to a Manager and at this same number I spoke to a Paul Collins who I guess trained that...

We loved the location of this hotel. Very close to everything. It's older and can be difficult to find the staff. We found the staff helpful and laid back when they were around. The pool is a welcome oasis in the French quarter in the summer. They have guest laundry available free

This apartment (with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and stove) has a poolside breakfast of cellophane wrapped pastry and bloody Mary mix with vodka. The manager let us in to drop off our bags at noon (check-in is normally 3:00 PM) so we could park just around the corner, two big pluses for being inside the French Quarter. The price is...

The best thing about Chateau Orleans is its location. Everything French Quarter is very walkable. For RCI members, it is a great deal for one week stay in a city that can be expensive. Outside view of resort is quite charming, very NOLA. Pool is nice common area, though heavily used and we didn't make time to use it. No...

This smaller hotel has a pool in the center of the courtyard for your daily dip after walking all day. The rooms are furnished with very nice antique reproductions and are very liveable. Parking is non-existent, there is a nearby garage but it costs $30 a day, so you have to factor that in to your pricey room rate.

My husband and I just had a wonderful 5-day, four night adventure in New Orleans. We did not go to the Jazz Fest, though it was on while we were there. We stayed in this great little place that is only two blocks off Canal Street and the trolleys and two blocks off Bourbon Street! Loads of convenience to food...

Place was old and dumpy. The floors (carpet) was old & really dirty, I noticed one evening my socks were filthy. The walls were paper thin, so I had to hear a drugged out couple argue for over a hour about their current affair at 3 am. Management should have been on the property to handle that mess. Service was...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
