We did not realize at the time of booking that this place was a time sharing -our fault. This means that they do not clean the rooms, and they not replenish toileteries/TP/coffee/etc until you ask many times to many different people.

Location is within 4 blocks of Bourbon Street, and about the same to market square. Property was very quaint, rooms were spacious, clean, and well decorated. Conveniently located a block from a large convenient store, and several restaurants. The only issue we had was parking....More
We stayed here over the week of Christmas. This is our second time that we have stayed at La Pension. The location is great (it's at the corner of Decatur and Canal), so you have easy access to: 1) French Quarters, 2) Canal Street (the...More
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The building and the room have a lot of character. They give you earplugs and a white noise machine, but the street noise at this end of the French Quarter is not bad at all. (The...More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
