We found this really good b & b in Algiers point, 5 minutes from the ferry. It was lovely and clean, good breakfast and owners Wendy and Kevin very helpful regarding what was best to visit in New Orleans, in fact they bent over backwards...More
I received very late notice that I would have to travel to the New Orleans area for business immediately before Mardi Gras weekend, 2017. Good luck finding a decent, affordable option, right? Fortunately, a friend who used to live on Algiers Point told me to...More

Great welcome and friendliness
They helped us out with their local knowledge on best places to visit and things not to miss. Especially at Mardi Gras time as transport could have been a problem for us.

Many thanks for your wonderful review. Always good to meet folks from the "Olde Country". So glad you enjoyed Mardi Gras (how could you not?) and that you chose to stay with us on your first visit to the U.S. Now you have the bug,...More
We tacked on an extra day/night after staying on Canal/Bourbon Street for a seminar. Algiers Point is a very peaceful, historic neighborhood. It was very much welcome after listening to drums and drunks clamoring at all hours of the night. The French Quarter is just...More

Many thanks for another excellent review! We are so glad you appreciate Algiers Point as much as we do. A peaceful haven with the French Quarter and all its fun and madness just a short ferry ride away. We look forward to the next time...More
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven
from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
