This B & B in The Marigney section of New Orleans is superb!! Our small room (in the rear dependency) was secluded and private and very comfortable. If you don't require luxury or tons of space, I strongly suggest this room for your stay. Phillip, our host, was so friendly and knowledgeable about New Orleans. His suggestions for dining were...

I had stayed at the Royal Street Courtyard with some girlfriends for a bachelorette party weekend in June 2009. I enjoyed it so much that I reserved the large room downstairs for my sister's bachelorette party in June 2010! We slept 5 very comfortably. It's a VERY quick walk (4 short, safe blocks) to Frenchman and only about 10 minutes...

My boyfriend and I took our first trip to New Orleans (were from MN), and we were super excited to check out the city and the local hot spots. Not only is Phil (the owner) one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, but he is also FABULOUS at recommending the BEST places to eat, see, music.... You can tell...

Yes, it really is true, this place is as good as everyone says and absolutely deserving of its no. 1 spot on Tripadvisor. I felt very sad leaving it and can't wait to come back one day. The room (no. 11) was comfortable and spacious and it was just wonderful being able to sit out on the balcony sipping a...

Had a great stay at the Royal Street Courtyard. House is 150 years old with 14 foot ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. Located a few blocks from Frenchman street and just beyond that is the French Quarter - never had to take a cab. Best breakfast, hushpuppies and poboys that I had during my entire stay were all within...

My best friend and I stayed here for 5 nights in March. It was our second trip to New Orleans in 6 months, and our first time at the Royal Street Courtyard. I have travelled to New Orleans many times, and have never had as wonderful an experience as I did at this B&B. Phillip and David are gracious hosts...

Extremely comfortable, friendly, clean, safe, and relaxing place to stay. Phillip and David could not have been more accomodating and the Royal St Courtyard is well deserving of it's #1 B&B rating. The free parking is also a big plus as opposed to the lots at the hotels who hold your car ransom for $20/night. My wife and I will...

This was our first visit to New Orleans and our stay in Royal Street Courtyard ensured that we had a fabulous experience. Our hosts were friendly, informative and welcoming without being overwhelming. The bedroom was delightful with a comfy bed and access to the front balcony and the location was perfect - a quiet and safe neighbourhood within easy walking...

My first tip? Bring a pen and paper when you arrive as you will receive incredibly comprehensive advice about what to do and see in New Orleans. Phil introduced us to everything we would need to know - where to go to see good jazz, what to eat, how to get a free trip across the Mississippi, what to do...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
