Okay I have a couple of issues with hotels that charge over $300 night and then want you to pay to park on their property. I just think that is in poor taste all around, Matters little what day it is, when you have that area set aside yet require your guests to pay up to $40 day for it,...

Dear madbeacher2009, thank you for your feedback. As we have 43 rooms and only seven parking spaces, it would be bad service for us to include the parking fee in the room rate as not everyone is lucky enough to get a spot. However, the situation with your A/C should most certainly have been handled better, the bellman should have...

This is a small boutique motel. Like most of the buildings in the French Quarter it is a very old building with great history but some less than desirable qualities. Pros: Fabulous location! 1 block from Bourbon St. Couple of blocks from Jackson square and a little longer walk to Canal St but you don't realize it because there is...

Dear swampyankee64, thank you for your feedback. I am delighted to read that you found our staff pleasant and helpful and enjoyed our location. It is true that due to the location and age of the property it does come with those quirks which for some are intolerable but for others are charming so it really depends on an individual's...

I've stayed in many locations in New Orleans in the French Quarter. The rooms are small, very poorly appointed and WAY overrpriced. Total rip off. I don't cry easily but I cried today. Waste of money. Wish I had booked at the Bourbon Orleans.

We have been to New Orleans many times, but we loved staying at this hotel. Perfect location - close to the action of the French Quarter, but a short walk away to quiet. Staff were very friendly but respected our privacy.

We were visiting family in Jennings, but had to see the city for Halloween! The draw of this place was that we could walk everywhere (from Bourbon st up to Frenchmen st, Cafe Du Monde, along the river, etc...) so that we could cram in as many sights as possible while drinking. The bonus was that it was nice and...

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to a friend who lives in the Quarter and found it to exceed my expectations. Quiet, comfortable; courteous and attentive staff. Great breakfast bar. Highly recommend!

The French Quarter of New Orleans has a unique charm. In a similar vein the non group/branded hotels have a uniqueness and for a different French Quarter experience its worth staying in one of these hotel. An excellent example is the Hotel Royal on the Royal/St Phillip intersection which is an old style hotel with a nice courtyard and very...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
