We are budget travelers. Two nights cost us $441 dollars, not a bargain by our standards but I went with it anyway. Saturday night cost twice the price of Sunday night. The hotel location is excellent. You're just one block or so off Bourbon Street, if that's important to you. The building is ancient like everything in New Orleans and...

The rooms were spacious. I say rooms because there was a issue with our original room when we came to check in. The staff showed us several alternatives for our first night then we moved to our balcony room. The original room was in the back of the hotel. It had exposed beams, a seating area, a very nice bathroom...

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Perfectly located in the French Quarter and 1 block from Bourbon Street. I stayed in a petite room - but was impressed by the updated and clean rooms/bathrooms. Upon arrival, the staff were warm and welcoming - even carried my luggage up the 2 flights of stairs to the room. Air conditioned rooms, free...

Stayed at this hotel while visiting New Orleans this past week. We really liked it, and thought it was very clean and well maintained. It's right in the middle of bourbon street and jackson square which was convenient for both locations and a short walk to each. I would recommend paying a little extra for the deluxe room. It was...

Aneid, Thank you for being our guest! The parking lot is part of the original building, which was built in 1827, and we try our best to accommodate all parking requests. Also, we offer five room types with sizes ranging from 160 square feet for our Petite Rooms to 600 square feet for the Royal Balcony Suites. We hope to...

Two blocks off Bourbon Street, clean original building, with one of the best staffs, I know in New Orlean! We will be back. The guys in the afternon were professional, funny, helpful. The morning bellman, was nice enough to show us larger rooms for our next visit. I heard new owners may be renovating, just a tip: improve what you...

Were told to stay in the French Quarter, so we did. Unless you are prepared to pay silly money, this is probably the best you'll get. Very old building, lots of stairs up and down to your room, which you will probably share with the odd cockroach! On the good side, the staff are friendly, helpful and lovely, and the...

I recently stayed at the beautiful Hotel Royal and it was great! The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the location was fantastic! The room was a bit on the small side, but it's just a place to sleep so that wasn't a huge issue. I will warn you that they did have the smallest shower I have...

We stay there the last days of our vacation on New Orleans, we enjoy the place, even all of the stairs we have to take to get to our room and the small breakfast they offer comes very handy if you wan to safe money and waking up early to look around the city.

My husband and I stayed here last July. We absolutely loved it! Yes, the room was small, especially the shower, but we expected that based on previous reviews. We loved Hotel Royal and felt that it was a great way to experience New Orleans "history". The staff was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Every recommendation was great! Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
