We love this beautiful hotel. Beautiful rooms and located in the quarter. Beautiful Dinning room with delicious food . Have had brunch there quite a few times. Roof top pool is very nice with great city views. Have stayed several times and hope to go back . One of our favorites.

Loved this hotel! We found the staff to be helpful and charming. Our rooms were beautiful and updated. The floor we were on was quiet and we saw absolutely no sign of construction. We had breakfast every day in the beautiful Crystal Room where we enjoyed made to order omelets and a really nice assortment of muffins, fresh fruit, hot...

I cannot speak for the hotel itself but avoid the bar there during Mardi Gras at all costs. The server was testy, the drinks were unbelievably small (barely a sip in the cup) & we were served in plastic cups! I have been to the bar at this time of year in the past & enjoyed it immensely but this...

Our travels to New Orleans were brought about by the Jazz & Heritage Festival. Online we checked several venues, but what sold us was the roof top pool (and we were not disappointed). Don't be deterred by the "renovation reviews"...they're completed. What a fabulous grand hotel with charming attributes such as a coffee table set up early in the lobby,...

Exceedingly overpriced! This was a one star hotel, that charged 3-4 star prices! Housekeeping services were terrible. Towels were shabby and frayed. Also the towels were insufficiently stocked and when we requested more towels we never received them. The free coffee was gross. Check-in ladies were nice enough but that is honestly the ONLY thing positive I have to say...

Having seen some negative reviews here of the hotel, we kept waiting for something to go wrong or show itself as not-so-good. True, our check in did not go smoothly, as reception were unable to locate our booking at first, but we booked through a lesser known third party who hadn't made our details clear - and we were always...

We stayed here the night before catching Amtrak to Washington DC. It is a lovely, old world feel hotel that has a nightly tradition of hot chocolate and and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at 10:00 pm. You'll need to go and here the story of why they have been doing this for years and years.

We were in New Orleans to attend a concert and stayed in this lovely, historical hotel. It is the perfect location for walking to the Superdome or the Smoothie King Center and an easy walk to the French Quarter as well. The hotel lobby and rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable....a stately elegance. The convenience of its location without the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
