The room was clean, the staff was super nice & helpful and the pool was awesome. Our room was a little small but fine for a few nights. Apparently they have many different types of rooms so you can find what you need. We will dedinitely stay here again!

My wife and I were extremely happy with the Lamothe House. Alex was amazing in every way. She made us feel at home immediately, and went out of her way to give us the keys to her city. By the end of the trip she was a friend, and the Lamothe House became our go-to hotel for future visits to...

First experience at Lamothe House,; if we get back to NOLA definitely won't be the last! Our room, large enough, looked out over the courtyard, some noise from people climbing stairs, but if the air had been on full would never have heard it. Only a few blocks from the Croissant D'or, our favorite place for a light lunch. At...

The hotel was in great location, close to all local attractions, close to Frenchmen street which was great for live music. The staff was friendly and helpful, very knowledgeable about the area. The room was clean, comfortable and had our own balcony! The hotel also had its own pool/jacuzzi. Great value, will stay again!

Characterful hotel on the edge of the French Quarter. Quirky and traditional in its decor but clean and comfortable. Courtyard garden around a very welcome pool. Very happy to recommend this hotel if you want a more authentic stay rather than big predictable corporate hotels.

We have visited Lamothe House two years in a row, and loved it both times. Most rooms overlook a charming internal patio with a fountain and a swimming pool, and lots of plants for a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are on the small side, but very comfortable, and offer a coffee maker/ pods.

This was an amazing place it looked exactly like the pictures. The room we had was awesome, average space(little small)but just right for the two of us. I really enjoyed that we had a private porch to sit out with out being disturbed. Would defiantly stay here again

I'm so disappointed in the guest service this chain provided (LaMothe House, Inn on St. Ann, Inn on St Peter, Inn on Ursulines etc). My friend became ill & had to cancel their flight to town & LaMothe House refused to refund my reservation for the room, even though I had only booked the room 2 days prior. I understand...

Our third stay. Once again enjoyed our stay, despite being there at a very busy time. Excellent location, near Frenchman St. and away from the Quarter. Our suite was large, clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed lounging by the pool in the late afternoon. Staff is friendly, competent and attentive. We look forward to a next visit.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the ancient oaks of Esplanade Avenue, the ornate architectural detail of the past meets modern comfort and convenience in our restoration of the historic Lamothe House hotel. Featuring an elaborate courtyard accented by mature landscaping, a garden pond, and a refreshing pool, peace and relaxation are just steps away from the thrill the Crescent City has to offer. In addition to 30 guest rooms refinished in traditional style, five Grand Antique Suites have been preserved from the original 1839 construction of the home of Jean Lamothe, a wealthy sugar cane planter of French descent. Furnished with antique furniture & artwork, the detail and charm that exemplifies old New Orleans is accessible to today’s traveler. Not to be overlooked is the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood the Lamothe House calls home. Here visitors will find Frenchmen Street, often referred to as “the local’s Bourbon Street”, which features some of the best local music and cuisine found in the French Quarter.Whether it’s your first or your next visit to the Big Easy, find the authentic New Orleans experience you are searching for at the Lamothe House. ... more   less
