I stayed here for three nights with a group tour in April 2015. My room was in the tower being renovated. The room was dated, had a light mildew odor and definitely need a renovation. Most of my group had rooms in the other tower that had newly renovated rooms and they loved them. The location is great and they...

My experience with this hotel was a disappointment and did not meet my usual Marriott expectations. This is a large, convention type hotel and although the tower I stayed in was recently renovated, it really was just average at best. Rooms were well maintained and clean but nothing special about it. The service in the lobby lounge was sketchy and...

I've stayed in this hotel about four times in the past five years, the most recent being in December 2014. This hotel is right on Canal -- basically in the French Quarter -- about two small blocks from Bourbon Street. It is a large, overwhelmingly big hotel. It's location to the French Quarter made it a nice perk. As with...

Stayed here for Jazz Fest and it was perfectly located to see all the sites in the city. Bourbon Street was only minutes away by foot and the trolley stop right across the street to go to Tulane and Frenchman's. Rooms were kinda redone with new beds and cheap decor but they were very tidy. Downstairs lobby was very busy...

This hotel was a refreshing place to come back to during a weekend stay in New Orleans. It is a very large and clean hotel. Good for business, girls weekend, and for families. Very good conference hotel! The staff had wonderful ideas of where to eat, even late at night. The concierge lounge was wonderful and accomodating. They gave us food just as they were closing, as we had a late arrival. The staff there were also helpful with good ideas of where to go.

We tried the nearby JW Marriott last time and made the switch to the larger NOLA Marriott due to a conference. Rooms are nice, beds always Marriott comfortable. The big difference at this property is easy - the staff. From the second you walk in, the bell captains greet you each and every single time. From the front desk, bartenders...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
