When visiting New Orleans the Marriott was a great choice for its central location and clean/comfortable rooms. The hotel itself is close to good walking streets, which can take you to most shopping and food destinations in that part of New Orleans (i.e. Bourbon Street, Royal Street, Chartres Street, etc). The hotel is a 12 - 15 minute walk from...

Jetlag1332, We are beyond pleased that you find our hotel to be the perfect destination for your New Orleans travels. It is wonderful to hear that you were happy with our central French Quarter location, incredibly comfortable rooms, and your time spent here with family. We love to hear when our guests visit great local spots such as the WWII...

We were in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and this was the Ohio State team hotel. The location is close to everything we wanted to see, plus it was less than a mile from the Superdome. The check-in was very efficient and we decided to stay one extra day in front of the Alumni Tour Package and one day...

RPS1971, We are so unbelievably humbled by your generous words and recommendation! Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience. It is great to hear that you loved our location and were able to catch a few rides on the historic streetcar line just steps from the hotel doors. Th location of this hotel is perfect for visiting New Orleans without a car. It is right on the edge of the French Quarter and a few blocks from the streetcar stop. We stayed here with a large contingent of OSU Buckeye fans for the Sugar Bowl and considering how crowded it got, things seemed to go smoothly, except for...

We stayed here for 4 nights around Christmas and loved the location and decor of the hotel. Our room was nice and clean, the only issue is there was some type of construction noise that started each day around 8AM. It sounded like drilling but would go on for a bit and then stop. Hopefully this is an issue the...

Good Chilly Morning Stephanie (I used to live in Lincoln Park, so I know Chicago in January), Just read your posting on TripAdvisor and I appreciate the compliments about the hotel being nice and clean with a great location. The construction noise was as you guessed, drilling. We are renovating the entire hotel and while we have been able to...

Stayed here for 4 nights in December. The hotel was very busy at the time as the Ohio State football team were staying at the hotel. Rooms were small and dated with a view of the river. Tracey, Thank you for taking the time to post on TripAdvisor. We celebrate the postive postings and make adjustments in how we service our guests when they have a less than excellent experience, which was clearly the case with your visit. We have a pretty robust inspection program that obviously failed when your tisuue was not replaced by the Housekeeper)....

The New Orleans Marriott had a great location on the corner of the French Quarter. Jackson square was only a 10 minute walk. It was a good stay, nothing over the top. The staff was courteous and the rooms were very clean. I would rate it a 3.5/5.0 stars just based on amenities. I used Travelocity to bid the room...

Came in town for a convention and were excited about staying at the host hotel. It's close to everything that we needed and had easy access for the shuttles too. Morning Taylor, Really sorry about the stain you found on the sheets. I understand why you would have found this disturbing. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
