As I was searching for the right hotel I stumbled upon this. The pictures was accurate and for the price I said let's try it. When I got there it was a straight house hence the name. Which u didn't pay attention to. But as we got to our room and looked around I was pleased and rather somewhere like...

Nice property. Very centrally located. Quiet street. Felt safe. Wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice touch. We reserved the Grand Balcony and we're put into a one bedroom residential. Lovely room. It not what we reserved. We asked twice and never received a response. Upon check Out was told no price difference. No bell hop upon check...

small hotel with nice room, beautiful bathroom, lovely outdoor seating by pool or on porch. Very convenient to Frenchman St, French Quarter, Warehouse District. Terrible breakfast, meager, run-of-the-mill, on disposable plates. We had far better at a gorgeous B&B for less $$ in the Garden District.

Omg, I just loved staying here for three nights. My husband and I stayed in the studio room. We had more than enough room. We love sitting by the pool midday after walking all morning. Nice little touch was the wine and cheese at 4:30. Breakfast was light but I usually only eat yogurt so it was good with us....

The room was very nice. Clean, spacious and quiet. It was nice to be within walking distance of the rest of the attractions in the French Quarter without being too close to the chaos. Breakfast wasn't super, but it was adequate - muffins, croissants, and cereal were available alongside juice, coffee and tea. The pool looked nice, although we were...

Yes, I'm basing this off of one stay, but by far my favorite place that I have stayed in New Orleans. It is a renovated Victorian Mansion so all rooms are slightly different but our room was large, charming and clean. The staff was absolutely incredible and the courtyard pool was a huge plus. Great location...walking distance to Frenchman Street...

The Melrose is a fabulous place to stay while in New Orleans. It's very close to all the activities in the French Quarter, and yet quiet enough to enjoy some down time! I would recommend the upstairs rooms for maximum peace and quietness. The rooms are nicely decorated, and the bed in our room was great! My only suggestion would...

I enjoyed my stay at this Restored property which still had the feel of years past. It was clean and well kept. right on the edge of the French Quarter. Continental breakfast and evening wine and cheese hour were appreciated .

Recently in NOLA for business meeting. Conference hotel was expensive and had stayed there before. Looked around for another option using location--proximity to downtown and French Quarter, ease of access-- tram line, quick driving, quiet, and cost effectiveness as criteria. Found the Melrose and sister properties. Booked Melrose and was completely satisfied. Arrived very late. Met by wonderful young person...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
