Beautiful and historic. Perfect location to get everywhere in the Quarter. Clean. Very helpful staff. Some reviews claim it is run down. It is historic so not like a large chain which is what I love. The history of the hotel was a surprise as we toured Laura Plantation and found out about the connection.

We loved this place. It was close to everything we wanted to do and the things that weren't the staff helped us arrange transportation. The staff also gave us suggestions on places to visit that most tourists don't know about. We were even invited to attend a crawfish bake that other guests were having. We have already recommended this hotel...

We are staying here for 5 days and this is unfortunately our last night. So sad to leave this great little hotel. It has meet every one of our expectations and then some. From the staff to the quality of the rooms, and everything else it has been first rate. Can't wait to come back.

Very different, old hotel but was very nice and comfortable. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Great location just a block off of central Bourbon street but was quiet. Our room had a balcony overlooking a nice courtyard that was perfect for morning coffee. Also has a nice coffee bar in lobby that was free. Room was split level with bathroom on...

The Olivier House is brimming with character and has a great location. We arrived at noon expecting to check our bags, but they were able to get us a room early. That was a nice bonus! But a few words of caution - our room (201) faced Toulouse Street. Even with earplugs and the sound machine, the noise from Bourbon...

Hello Sealander, We're happy to have been able to provide an early check-in for you. We do our best to accommodate guest as quickly as possible. Our apologies for the street noise during your stay. Many guests request street facing balconies, and enjoy the activity on the street. Others prefer the serenity of the courtyard side of the hotel. This...

We spent one full week there and loved everything about this hotel. It has a super cool old European vibe with meandering open air walkways and public balconies for relaxing. The public balconies have great views of the city and were great for us, since we did not reserve a room with a private balcony. Of course the courtyards were...

The hotel was one block from the Bourbon street and blocks from riverwalk. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Extremely polite staff. Very limited parking in and around French quarter. Be prepared to pay hefty valet parking fees.

We stayed here for our 36th wedding anniversary. We were right in the French Quarter and able to easily walk to any restaurants or entertainment we wanted. Very quiet as well! We would definitely stay here again!

We found and chose to stay at Olivier House through this trip advisor ap. The reviews strongly influenced our decision. We loved the overall vibe and location of the place. We would choose to stay here again for a French Quarter experience, less than one block from Bourbon Steet it is easy walking distance to anywhere in the French Quarter....

We stayed three nights to get two full days in the centre of NoLa. The hotel has a great location in the French Quarter and is a fascinating old building. We booked a "superior queen", getting a large room on the ground floor with lovely brickwork and high wooden ceiling. However the hotel experience was spoiled because: (a) the room...

Hello FullamPete, We appreciate the candid review of your stay. Although I'm glad you liked the location and architecture of the Olivier House, I would like to extend my apologies for the dampness issue which you experienced. You are quite right that, upon rare occasions, New Orleans experiences torrential downpours of rain and high humidity levels. (The unfortunate reality of...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
