Hotel Provincial has a very friendly helpful staff. The hotel is located in the perfect place not to noisy with access to pretty much everything. We were in the older building and it could use some updating and renovation, but other than that a very nice place to stay.

We had a family rendezvous in New Orleans. My sister picked out Hotel Provincial for the location and great price. It is just 2 blocks from Jackson Square. It is in a renovated historic two story building. Our ground floor room was very nice with an updated bathroom. Everyone of the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a...

Spent 2 nights there and was quite pleased. Room was a decent size, good bedding and towels, mini fridge, beautiful courtyard and pool. Pool is not heated though. Very friendly and helpful front desk. Quick valet parking for about $30 a day. So close to bourbon street and cafe du monde. Wifi was ok. Some reception issues with the TV...

If you are looking for a perfect and lovely location in the French Quarter, we would strongly recommend Hotel Provincial. Very pretty interior patio. Very quiet rooms. Very nice staff. To start a perfect holiday in the French Quarter, book a room and stroll along Royal Street on a beautiful sunny day with your family. Listen to some jazz on...

We went to New Orleans 2 weeks before Mardi Gras to revel in the Carnival atmosphere, but before ALL the tourists came to town. The Provincial is our go-to place to stay - convenient to the French Market area, in the Quarter but definitely the more quiet section. Just a few blocks to Frenchmen St. fun.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the mattress/pillows were among the best I have ever had the pleasure to use. Our corner balcony room overlooked Decatur Street, and it was fabulous. We had fun popping in and out the enormous window onto the balcony and enjoyed a bottle of wine while sitting and listening to a jazz band playing...

The hotel was great. At check-in they gave us a 2 for 1 drink card that can be used anytime (happy hour is from 3-6pm), their hurricanes are some of the best in town. The room was clean enough and the beds were comfortable. The only things that were a problem for me; the light. The door has shutters that...

We had reserved a suite and we were thinking that we would get a room with a couch. Well, we walked in and discovered that they had placed us in a small 2 story house (apartment) in the middle of the French Quarter. We had 2 full bedrooms with 2 full baths, a kitchen and living room. We were also...

Very nice rooms in the heart of the French Quarter, and an easy walk to Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, and Frenchman Street to see great music. The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful. We loved staying at Hotel Provincial and would highly recommend it, especially during Mardi Gras season.

The room was clean and super comfortable. Everything worked well. The staff was friendly. The bar had a nice happy hour. The location was great - close enough to be easy to get to the action but far enough to be quiet while you're trying to sleep. The courtyard was enjoyable. The wifi worked great (but does require you to...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

“Room was slightly smaller than an average King room, but it was charming -- especially with the balcony. The only recommendations are to put a second trash can in the bedroom area, replace the shower head and provide a small coffee pot in the room.”

“I tend to like rooms close to the pool but I have stayed in many different rooms and have found them all to be nice and comfortable. Rooms on the river (Decatur St) side may be a little noisier at night with traffic and people partying.”
