Prytania Park is a short walk to the St Charles Street cable car line. There are also some nice restaurants within walking distance. It is tuck back off the road so there isn't a lot of noise from cars. (Noise from other guest is another story.) The room was small. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets. The towels were...

Stayed here for a couple of days before leaving on a cruise and this hotel was perfect for us. It's just steps to the St. Charles street car line and there are several good restaurant choices just a short walk away. Street car gets you to Canal street/French quarter in 20 minutes or so. Nice comfortable bed and functional rooms....

It's hard to resist the economical price of a room at Prytania Park. Knowing that we would spend very little time in the room, saving an average of $100 per night is tempting. And it was exactly what we expected. The front desk clerk, whom we had encountered before when we stayed at Prytania Oaks, which we loved, seems less...

Fairly clean and looks recently updated but some of the updates look like they took some shortcuts. Very comfortable beds.Small room and bathroom.Very slow internet which annoyed my husband since we were not visiting for pleasure and he needed to do work). I was staying here to have a surgical procedure at a hospital on St Charles and the operation's...

Unique hotel with loft area if traveling with children or need for multiple sleeping areas. This was our first time booking a hotel in the garden district. It is one block from St Charles, you definitely want to purchase a day pass for the streetcar for multiple trips throughout the day as you will not want to walk to the...

We stayed in a Charming Old World Queen for five nights around New Year's. The room was full of vintage character (loved the exposed brick and tall ceiling), but the bed was comfortable, the heat was fine and the bathroom had been fully updated. It was a great room to return to, and I bet that outdoor area is terrific...

If you are looking for a place that is clean with a parking lot, then this is the place. I didn't go to NO for the hotel, I went to see NOLA. The hotel is very old but well kept and a safe place to stay. We were one block from the trolley stop and if the weather hadn't been...

We stayed here for 3 nights while in New Orleans, La. The hotel entrance is odd, but the lobby is clean and staff very accomodating. We loved our room. Had a newly updated bathroom. Ceilings are high which helps make the room seem bigger. Wifi was a bit slow, but we like this hotel. Great secured entrances to rooms, bamboo...

This is not your ordinary cookie cutter establishment. It is housed in an old renovated estabishment in the Garden District. It has the New Orleans feel and look. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Lots of hot water with good pressure. Clean and quiet. Just a short walk to the trolly and some great eateries....

We have stayed at the Prytania Park several times but this was the first time accompanied by a group of college kids. The location is great. Just walk up the block and get on board the trolley to travel up to the Canal Street area. The demeanor of the male, not the female, overnight front desk person tends to be...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
