Me and two of my friends stayed here during the Essence Festival weekend. We were skeptical, but after reading the reviews we decided to give it a try. We drove 7 hours to New Orleans Friday morning, checked in the hotel, then went to a concert. When we returned to our rooms that evening, one of my friends found a...

Stayed here last month and it was very good but if you look in the corners you can tell that housekeeping could try a little harder. Upon arrival it looks clean but after looking closely I could see neglect. All management needs to do is order a deep cleaning and detailing once in a while. 2 examples: the bathtub has...

Dear Guest, THANK YOU for your review, both the good and the not so good. We have been so incredibly busy, we have not a chance to take rooms down for fine tuning, and deep cleaning as you see we need it. Although the overall room is clean, the fine tune details have been at times overlooked since it's been...

My wife and I spent two days here while exploring New Orleans. The hotel location is great, just off the Charles Street trolley line in the eastern end of the Garden District. We walked to the French Quarter, but found the trolley to be faster, and save walking for the French Qtr. Check in (and out) was easy and without...

A group of us stayed here; the rooms are clean and well maintained. This is away from the noise usually associated with New Orleans, right on the St Charles streetcar line, and in the Garden District. Shopping on Magazine street is close and so is the WWII museum. Free WIFI, free breakfast and FREE PARKING. Would stay here again.

We booked a 3 night stay from 22rd August 2013. We had room 104. The bed was a lumpy double. There was no hair dryer, no conditioner. On two mornings no toast at breakfast, or fruit. And the breakfast lady was late ! The door of our room had to be slammed to close it properly, as it jambed. The...

We stayed here for a wedding with many of our family and friends. The property is in a great location on the famous St Charles line. The rooms were clean and the property was well maintained. The desk staff and management were unhelpful and confused. Many of our reservations were screwed up. We had to argue in order to secure...

Dear Guest, I am sorry you left early as you did, and did not get to enjoy our property like the rest of your family. As explained, you did not have all the facts and history of your families reservations, and once you did, we hoped you understood where the mix ups came from and why they happend. It certainly...

This will now be my first choice when I make reservations in New Orleans! the location is very convenient -- just a quick walk to the streetcar and St. Charles. There's free parking, which is pretty much unheard of. The staff was very friendly. The wifi is free. The room was clean. About the only thing that was a negative...

This is a very pretty boutique type hotel in the Garden District. It's just one block from St. Charles, so the streetcar line is very convenient. Our unit had a loft reached by a spiral staircase. My sister and I slept in the lower bed & our daughters slept in the loft. We had a very nice 4-night stay; there...

Loft room for myself and two teenage daughters. Excellent location. Downstairs sofabed took up the whole living area; one could barely squeeze through between it and the dresser. Could be solved just by moving the dresser toward the window, away from the foot of the sofabed. Girls enjoyed the loft. NB: Take the receptionist's word for the best tour in...

I had just a couple of days to run away from home with my college age daughter. We were on a tight budget and this little jewel fit our bill perfectly. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was perfect, one block off of St. Charles. We came in the middle of the week so I had no...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
