Fairly conveniently situated on Canal Street, it is easy to walk to the French Quarter, riverside etc You need to allow plenty of time to get from your room to the lobby because the lifts are always busy. At peak times there is a queue for breakfast because there is inadequate seating to cope with large numbers. The rooms are... More

Just stayed at the Sheraton on a 4 day trip to NOLA. Hotel was great and the staff was amazing. We ate in the bar and the food was great. The location is good. It was a very short walk to the french quarter and other local attractions. My only negative was that our floor was dirty. We were on... More

In town for a week of business meetings. First- checking into the hotel on Tuesday and there is no power, no water, no bathrooms- but you got two nifty glow sticks to sit in your room- with no AC- for the evening. Second- Forget getting documents or packages being sent to you. They don't go to the hotel and to... More

A "relaxing getaway" this was NOT! After working overtime for days in preparation for a conference at this hotel, I arrived in hopes of being able to rest at the end of the 10-14 hour days that I worked during my 5 day stay at this Sheraton. I needed my room to be a safe, clean, comfortable refuge. Instead everything... More

The whole point to staying in a hotel is having somewhere comfortable to sleep. That's it really. Of course the food is important to some, having a pool, a gym, etc are required by some also. But if the sleep isn't comfortable, then it's not fit for purpose. Now, we were booked in here for a week, for a conference... More

On arrival we had quite a wait to check in, we were in a party of 42 and it took for hours to get to our room, BUT once we had got our room it was a different story, this hotel is close to most things in New Orleans, you can either walk or take the Tram which stops outside... More

This is a lovely hotel situated at the edge of the French quarter and close to shops, restaurants and attractions. The hotel has a huge lobby with a central bar. Our room was clean and comfortable with a floor-to-ceiling glass window which overlooked the city. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There was a $13 charge for internet in... More

Stayed here over Thanksgiving. Great hotel. Great location. Great service. Did a Name Your Own Price with Priceline and was thankful that the Sheraton was our hotel. Only downside is expensive parking - $43/night.

Thank you for your review. It doesn't get much better than great and we are happy that we were your hotel as well! We apologize that you found parking expensive but you will find it is in line with our competition. Hopefully the value you received via Priceline offset your parking fee. I don't know where to begin. The room smell of mildew. The air condition barely worked. The tub barely would drain. The toilet made noises all night. The air condition vent was filled with dust. The vent in the bathroom was filled with dark black dust. The whole hotel needs a scrubbing. The pool area is ridiculously small and surrounded... More

This is a nice hotel near all restaurants and activities! The staff was very friendly .. I checked in early and didn't have to wait for a room .. they even upgraded my room to a higher floor level! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to be in the center of everything!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
