Dennis and his team made my trip to NOLA truly memorable. I would highly recommend The Guest house, for a true New Orleans experience. Very quiet and in a great location. Prices are very reasonable. Clean.

I truly enjoyed my experience at this B&B. The location is excellent and the owners offered exceptional hospitality during our stay. The house has a cozy old-fashioned feel which made me feel at home in a very authentic New Orleans setting.

GREAT location, one block from the St. Charles streetcar. Quiet neighborhood. Extremely helpful staff (part of wonderful owner Dennis Hilton's non-related extended family). Simple breakfast included (coffee, juice, fruit, toast). True sense of slightly faded, historically rich, community-driven Crescent City.

I made a last minute booking for the St Charles Guest House, over the phone, from the airport, just after landing from LA. I found the listing in Frommers guide 2016, in the airport bookshop. I was welcomed warmly and my room was excellent, old style NOLA(New Orleans). ALso a great deal financially -totally affordable. And guess what- they have... More

The stay here was great. The room was good, but the people were great. Everyone was friendly and I always had fun with everyone. NOLA is a great place to visit and this place is in the heart of it all. Dennis, Taylor, James, John, Pete. Thanks for the memories!!

We stayed at the St. Charles Guest House for four nights. Although it was described like "staying at Grandma's house", and the personality of the folks working there definitely matched this description, the building, actual room (B2) and furnishings were more reminiscent of a terrible hostel rather than comfy and cozy like a grandparent's. I have traveled extensively, using both... More

Having spent Thanksgiving, then back after Christmas to spend New Years with friends and family, was honored to meet more of the Hilton family, this time, and especially to also meet John, who is among those who helped get the Guest House started. John, back to help with a packed house over 2016 New Years, also helped build the first... More

We had a wonderful stay for New Years and a few days after at the St. Charles guest house. We were a family of three with our 19 year old daughter and we stayed in a nice spacious room with a special private nook bedroom for my daughter. The weather was cold, but the gas heaters kept us toasty warm.... More

My love and I decided to skip backpacking during the New year due to bad weather & New Orleans worked it charm yet again! Being a last minute decision, New years holiday, & Sugar Bowl weekend, almost every hotel was booked or quadrupled in price. No matter how disheartening at first, it turned out to be a really good thing!... More

I stayed at the St. Charles Guest House this fall for four nights with two of my friends when in town for a friend's wedding at the Audubon Zoo. The guest house was great! The Hiltons, the owners, are very friendly and pretty charming. The house is definitely old, so don't go in expecting luxury, but the rooms are spacious... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
