The hotel is very pretty on the outside and our room was decent sized and well maintained. Unfortunately, we had a really bad experience with the staff. They lock their doors after a certain time for safety and have a person sitting at the front. We were unaware, as we had been greeted the night before, around 1am by a...

I'll be honest and admit that I don't write many reviews but I often read them from places I've stayed at before to see if others have the same good or bad experiences as myself. I stayed at the Lafayette hotel this past December. The location was close enough to the french q, the rooms were phenomenal, the steak restaurant...

The hotel was quaint but nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean and decor pleasing. Well situated. Could walk to restaurants and shopping areas with ease. The hotel staff was superb. Mrs. Denise Crawford exudes the true meaning of Southern hospitality and excellent customer service. She gave of her time, knowledge and attention to each guest providing assistance, suggestions and sometimes...

I've been to bad hotels in my life, but usually those where cheap almost motels - 40 dollars dives we all have stayed in, but even those had a pretty good wi-fi Internet connection or even a vending machine in some hall in case you get thirsty. Now the Lafayette Hotel on 600 st. Charles in New Orleans might be...

Sorry for the WIFI – didn’t receive any similar feedback - we are checking that out now. Our Desi Vega Restaurant & Bar services are typically enjoyed by our guests. Sorry we missed...

The room was $99 which was very reasonable for the CBD in New Orleans. The furniture has seen better days. Looking a little old. The room was very small. No mini fridge . But I still would go again because of the price!

Finding a nice hotel in a great location for a reasonable price is difficult enough in New Orleans. When you add to that, however, a place that is also pet friendly, then you truly have the perfect fit for travelers who don't want to leave their pets behind. This is what we found at The Lafayette during Thanksgiving holiday. Their...

For the 3rd year now, the company I work for has had our Christmas party downtown and we've all stayed at The Lafayette. As always, we had an excellent experience with the entire hotel staff. This was our second stay at the Lafayette hotel, we enjoyed the hospitality and great service this hotel has. Valet parking is quick and easy and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our room was overlooking a small park full of beautiful oak trees a quiet and peaceful place to stay.

My wife and I enjoyed a 4 day, 3 night stay at the Lafayette. This place is full of "Old New Orleans." My wife described it as "classic and rustic." Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
