We booked a one night trip to NOLA about two days before we left. We are from Baton Rouge, so we have had plenty of experiences in New Orleans. When we arrived, We were served right away. We were also allowed to check in earlier than 4:00, we arrived around 1:00. When we started checking in, at our surprise, we...

This was my second time staying at Lafayette Hotel. They again provided me with a wonderful place to rest my head after a long day of exploring the city. The location of the hotel is fairly convenient to the French quarter and is right on the St. Charles line which makes heading uptown a breeze. The rooms provide everything you...

An older building with 2 decent elevators, a tiny lobby, and nice clean hallways and rooms. Our room was really quiet and comfortable. Nice bathroom. We upgraded to a suite, but the TV in the bedroom never did work. We reported it at 8am and it wasn't fixed by our return at 9pm. Sent up a staff person, but it...

The Lafayette hotel was just far enough from the main hub to not be bothered by noise. The trolley car was at the door and took you most places you wanted to go with easy accessibility. Otherwise it was only a short taxi/uber trip to everywhere. The staff were friendly, helpful and full of information about what to see and...

We recently visited New Orleans for the French Quarter Music Festival staying at the Lafayette. It is a charming old boutique hotel located within walking distance to the French Quarter, the Art District and the Garden District. This is exactly what we were looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable with a very...

The staff and service at this hotel are amazing and ever so helpful and friendly. We had travelled here for business interviews and stayed for a full week. The service remained consistent throughout. Very decent hotel.

There is nothing bad we could say about this hotel. The hotel room we were given was on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city. The room was large and comfortable and very clean. We had valet parking and the two gentlemen we dealt with were very informative and helpful. It was $40 a night but it...

I was asked upon check out to leave a review here, so I'm going to be completely honest with you. This hotel was -OK. Quaint, small, and in a good location. About halfway between the French market area and bourbon street. So a 10-15 minute walk regardless. Or you can take the street car that runs directly in front of...

The staff is amazing. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I was travelling on my own, so had a few questions about where to go/not go and what to do when I checked in. Parking is valet - like all downtown hotels I've stayed in - and it's so nice not to have to worry about where to park and...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
