Stayed for four nights over Spring Break with family. Having already deemed Monteleone my hotel for NOLA, glad to be back. Doorman attentive, but only holds door and no help with bags, so a bit disappointed at outset. Check in was pleasant, but not efficient. Room still gorgeous and on top floor, so all well there. Maid service very attentive...

Last time in NOLA, 4 years ago my daughters and I tried to make our way in to the Carousel Bar and there was more than an hour wait so we had to give up. Tonight we got lucky and even though it was a Friday night within a few minutes we got seats on the Carousel. Our bartender William...

A combination of location, good food and top notch service make the Monteleone (IMO) one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. We had a reservation for twelve and we were shown to a small room during the early evening dinner rush. From arrival to departure the service was impeccable. The food was nothing short of fantastic! A shout out...

My college age son and I spend a weekend in New Orleans and stayed at the Monteleone. What a charming place! It's conveniently located on Royal Street in the French Quarter but provides a welcome respite to the action on the street. The Carousel Bar was our favorite place to watch the NCAA tournament.

I stayed here for a conference. The service was excellent. You are in the middle of the French Quarter and the old fashioned charm is paramount! I had an easy check in and the staff was outstanding. Since you are in the middle of everything the location can get noisy. Despite this I was able to sleep well each night...

Prime location, right in the heart of the French Quarter. Easy access to cute little shops, clubs and bars on Bourbon street and delicious beignets within a few steps! Very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Exceptional staff. Gratitude and biggest compliments to Keyla Jeronimo for going above and beyond keeping our room spotless every morning and every night.

I had my first stay at the Monteleone over St. Patrick's Day weekend this year, and it was all I'd been promised by people who've stayed many times before. The hotel is a large, historic hotel in the middle of the French Quarter. It's centrally located to all French Quarter spots (Bourbon Street, Canal Street, the streetcar line) so you'll...

Room was small but nice. Location in the French Quarter was perfect. Hotel had all amenities we were looking for. Concierge was helpful. Given the location, the room was quiet. Wifi worked well. I would recommend this hotel.

I will be back. We love the bed in the hotel room. Best sleep i have had in years. The spa experience was fabulous and we love the jazz singer in the hotel bar. We will be back for sure. The location of the hotel was ideal for the experiencing the French Quarter.

While the Hotel Monteleone in nicely furnished the rooms are small, some with out windows. The bath is even smaller, 1 person just fits. Hotel is over hyped, over rated, and over priced. WiFi is extremely slow, unless you want to pay more! Probably won't stay there again.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
