We always enjoy staying at the Westin in New Orleans. It is clean and friendly, and quite beautiful. The location is fabulous, and having the river view is a nice bonus. It is quite close to the French quarter without being in the midst of it, and there is plenty of shopping to be had in the building and in...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Check in is on floor eleven and from there you take a different set of elevators using room key, extremely secure. Lovely views of Mississippi River, very good restaurant. In all hotels in New Orleans there are enormous surcharges for tourism, stadium, room tax, really adds up but will be true of all hotels. Very clean and well kept and...

Management response:

Thanks for the review Gay E! The three elevators can be a bit tricky, but you're right in saying you are secure at this hotel! If you're ever back with us, be sure to catch breakfast and sunrise in our R127 restaurant, best sunrise view in the city!

Stayed on the 28th floor, one of the suites. Totally love it though i am not so sure about the wide living room such a waste of space + the next room has screaming kids all morning. But overall, i love this hotel. Would definitely go back!

The place is very safe and a good location. Close to everything, we walked everywhere. Very clean. My only complaint is the beds could have been better, they were slightly hard mattresses. Helpful staff! The valet and bell men were very friendly.

Stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved it. Just the best location in the French quarter with views over the Mississippi, and warm friendly service. The rooms were spacious and beds supremely comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding (and I don't usually bother with hotel breakfasts). My only tip would be to request a room on an upper...

Other than the two elevators to get to your room, everything about the hotel was convenient. Great location - walking distance to both the river walk and the French Quarter. Our room had a beautiful view of the river. The buffet breakfast was good but skippable. The hotel is attached to a high end mall.

We have been to many Westin hotels, this one does not carry the same standard as the rest of the Westin hotels. It's in a very convenience location, however for the price we paid, I'd expect slightly higher quality. The carpets were very dirty in the elevators. Our room shower was broken, we had to call front desk around midnight to...

Great location in the city. Right on the edge of the French Quarter. Everything is within walking distance. Safe and secure-key access to take the elevators up. Spacious rooms that are clean. Housekeeping was fantastic. Bed was comfortable. Walls a little thin. Gym was great! A little hard to navigate the hotel and parking was $30/day. I did not try...

Recently stayed here for a long weekend. Great location, while it is in walking distance to the French Quarter it is far enough away you don't hear a lot of noise from partying. We stayed in a room that overlooked the river. It had a great view, but the train that runs along the river woke us up with its...

Let's start with the fact that the lobby is on floor 11. You need to take 2 elevators to your room. It's also in a mall which is a bummer to me. I walked into my room and as I turned on the light I realized there was dried up blood or something disgusting on the light fixture. It was...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
