We went the weekend before Mardi Gras. CRAZY.. Try not to stay in Bourbon Street for Mardi Gras, you most likely won't be able to sleep... Weed smell everywhere and Uber will not be able to come get you, all streets are closed. you are better off staying in Canal street... Once in a lifetime experience. I don't regret it,...

The time we were there the place was not crowded so our service was great and the room was clean and quiet. Bedding was very comfortable. We drove so parking was a little difficult as one of the streets was blocked. Great location right in the middle of everything.

The location and service are both top notch. The common areas are upscale and very well maintained. It's busy during the day, but they do a good job of restricting access late at night so that only hotel guests can get beyond certain areas. Any time I needed assistance, the staff was always quick to help. I'm sure a bit...

I am staying at this hotel for eight days during Mardi Gras, and my room has only been cleaned once. I ran out of clean towels and toilet paper and have to call someone to replenish them. I understand that this is the busiest time of the year, but this should still be a priority. I have seen the maid...

Hotel is centrally located and the restaurant was excellent. The jazz in the bar was a perfect way to end the night. Rooms are well appointed and very quiet. Can't beat the value in the Quarter... we will be back

Dear Happytraverlers2013, In the Crescent City, jazz serves as the close to a perfect night, but as you likely found, live music accompanies nearly every part of the day! We are thrilled that you enjoyed yourselves in The Jazz Playhouse, and that you savored a meal in our lobby-level restaurant. It was a joy to host you and we hope...

Simply put, we loved the Royal Sonesta. It is like an oasis of sanity in the insanity of Bourbon St. We weren't sure about our choice, given its proximity to Bourbon St, but we made the right decision. The Sonesta is a classy, well-maintained, well-staffed establishment. On the advice of other contributors, we arranged for an "interior balcony" so as...

The entire stay at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans was one mishap after another. Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
