The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The furniture was a bit worn, but for such a low price I was really impressed with the quality of the bed. There was also a new flatscreen tv in the room. I thought it might be noisy to stay in the French Quarter the week before Mardis Gras, but the old building...

Hotel St. Marie sits on the corner of Toulouse and Dauphine in the French Quarter, only a block from Bourbon St., so you can be close to the action. We were checked in by a courteous, efficient, and friendly clerk named Travis. The room was small but well appointed. The beds had soft mattresses that were extremely comfortable, but the...

Following a cruise, we spent several days visiting New Orleans. We found the location of the hotel in the French quarter to be convenient yet not too noisy at night. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable. Restaurant and bar on site, staff very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend.

This place is really nice and has large rooms.. The staff was wonderful. A older hotel in the French quarter but far enough you don't get the noise of bourbon street. But a block maybe to get to the action of the all the bars and entertainment of bourbon street. They have a very nice little bar and restarant and...

The location of this hotel is in walking distance to a LOT of things we wanted to see and do while we were in town. Room was fine-no complaints and the girl at the check in desk was super friendly! Lovely little courtyard to sit in as well :)

Friendly service from front desk people. Great location. however, our room was literally the most humid and moldy smelling place we experienced in New Orleans. When we came in from outside, you could immediately smell the mold in the hotel. Then, entering our room, it was even moldier smelling. Every morning I woke up with really itchy eyes and runny...

We came for the Sugar Bowl, Tanya at front desk very friendly and the room was clean and spacious. We did have one bad experience with the bar tender-whom we found was not an employee of the hotel. Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
