My wife and I stayed here on March 9th thru 12th. The room was clean but dated. The carpet needed to be changed our. It looked dirty and was torn. The bed mattress needed to be replaced. It was worn and hard. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good for the French quarter....

Hotel St. Marie has all the architectural charm and hospitality we expected , but not all of the noise from festivities of Bourbon St. . Just a short walk to get to most attractions , shops , activities in French Quarter and Riverwalk . Will definitely stay here when we return to NOLA.

If you are on a tight budget and looking to be walking distance to Bourbon St this is the place to stay!!! Clean rooms, good beds. Make sure you book a room with a street balcony, is worth it!!! Check in was fast, rooms were large enough ( you don't even spend that much time in it), there is an...

Location is prime. Close to Bourbon but you don't get the noise from all the partying. Hotel restaurant has good food and service is great! The rooms have seen better days but for the price, I can't complain too much --except for the bathroom. The bathroom door had shutters and didn't close properly so other than the lack of privacy...

Being about a block off of the main drag, it is easy to walk everywhere and yet the rooms are not noisy. Walking to Jackson Square and the river front take about 15 minutes. You are one block away from hurricanes and bead throwers. If you get a room with an outside balcony, the rooms on the inside seem to...

My friend and I stayed at Hotel St. Marie for 4 days over this past weekend, and we could not have had a better experience. The rooms are large, and the amenities great. The soundproofing is excellent, and the TV great. The desk clerks are friendly and helpful. We were treated absolutely in a first-class manner. Great job, Hotel St....

I have stayed at the St. Marie several times now, being first attracted by the location and price. The rooms have always been a bit on the worn side with a few carpet or furniture stains, peeling wallpaper, single pane windows that liberally "sweat", old fashion tvs, 1 very slow elevator serving 5 floors, and most recently, a slow draining...

Look, I know you've read the other reviews. But here's the thing: you've got a lot of choices in NOLA. Choose a location that will work for what you want to do. If you want to be central to the quarter, then the St. Marie works fine. Yes, the place has seen better days, but that's typical with many city...

We have been coming to New Orleans for once a year for several years now. Hotel St. Marie is our usual hotel unless it is full. Though I would never call it a five star hotel, the quality of this hotel has certainly gone down over the years. If your room is out by the patio area, you have to...

Hotel St. Marie is ideally located a block off Bourbon in the center of the French Quarter. Bayona (amazing restaurant - get reservations) is just around the corner. The non-affiliated yet adjoining bar/cafe, Vacherie, is wonderful for the last drink of the evening or a delicious egg and cheese croissant with excellent coffee to get you going in the morning....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
