We stayed here for one night. The check in was quick and front desk staff super friendly. Love the coffee and tea all day. Location is good. The room was not so good. They must not have vacuumed/cleaned from the last people who were in...More
Stayed here for a Bears at Saints game. Fantastic location. Close to Mercedes Benz Super Dome. Two streets down. Three streets over. Few blocks from Bourbon Street. Eating and drinking all around this place. Has Convenient Parking. Rooms were nice, modern with two queen beds....More
I can honestly say I’ve never stayed anywhere as noisy as this place and I don’t mean the traffic! The housekeepers shout up the corridors to each other and constantly slam doors, if you’ve gone for a rest in the day due to jet lag...More
Location to French Quarter was great. Front desk clerk was on her own working when we checked in and was overwhelmed with guests and phone calls. She did an amazing job with the customers, however, there was quite a wait and we felt bad for...More
The location of the hotel was good. When we first pulled up to it, I thought it was a bit sketchy, but it turned out to be just fine. Close walk to the French quarter ( about a ~15 min walk) and very close to...More

TripAdvisor is proud to partner with Hotels.com, IHG, Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, Travelocity, Cancelon, HotelQuickly, TripOnline SA and getaroom.com so you can book your Holiday Inn Express New Orleans Downtown reservations with confidence. We help millions of travellers each month to find the perfect hotel for both holiday and business trips, always with the best discounts and special offers.
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

This is a GREAT question. One of the best benefits of our hotel is our location. We are close enough yet far enough to truly enjoy the best of New Orleans. This is assuming you don't mind a walk. New Orleans is a walking city. But there are street cars also. We are approximately a 6 minute to Canal Street which is a main artery in New Orleans that runs through the French Quarter. So YES - we are close. Yet far enough away to truly get a restful nights sleep away from the crazy fun of Bourbon Street and the rest. I'm actually living in the hotel for a few weeks and I often go to the FQ on the weekends or to the Casino or Mall... They're all a very enjoyable walk. New Orleans and the Holiday Inn Express Downtown will not disappoint you- it's a must see destination. We hope to welcome you soon.

We arrived New Orleans via air on Saturday to take a cruise leaving Sunday...took a cab to this HIE where had made reservations....walked around downtown, walked to and back from Bourbon Street....actually on the street for hours in vicinity of this hotel and never had a reason to be nervous or fearful....of course you are in a city and should take precautions, but again zero issues personally!
Felt in danger at any time, NO.....on the other hand, felt HOT....YES! Whew it was hot! Lol!
