We stayed in a double queen room at the hotel. It was very clean and cozy. There is not a lot of extra room, but who wants to sit in a hotel room in a setting like this?! We took Hwy 16A fro Mt Rushmore. Such a gorgeous drive, and we encountered herd after herd of buffalo. It was amazing!!...

This is one of the older cabins in the park. Upside: Reasonably priced lodgings for about 4 couples (even though the cabin will sleep more). Nice common areas to have more visitors as we did since we were having a family reunion. Decent kitchen. Plus you are in the heart of the park. We even had a buffalo close by....

We stayed in one of the motel rooms attached to the lodge. We were in one that faced the highway. It was a great room, very well appointed and clean. The staff was most helpful and kind. The area is full of a variety of wildlife. Buffalo can regularly be seen very close to hotel. We ate at the restaurant...

Spent 1 night in one of the historical rooms in the lodge and really enjoyed the stay. Be aware that lodge rooms are on the second floor with no elevator but was not a problem for us. Queen room was small but had character, was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Beautiful scenery. Large comfortable room equipped with fridge, microwave, comfortable coach that turns into double bed. Small bathroom but has vanity/sink area separate so doable. Sink was leaking when we arrived but maintenance arrived shortly and took care of it. My only complaint was check in. I like to be greeted with a smile and not a reprimand "that check...

A truly relaxing getaway for me is getting away from the chaos of a big city and traffic and noise. This lodge is off a main highway but that did not affect the peacefulness. The building is old but so attractive. The brick/stone work on the exterior is something to appreciate and the hard wood on the interior is just...

We stayed in the Eisenhower Room. It adjoins the Coolidge Room, with a connecting door. A connecting door that, even though it was closed and locked, allowed EVERY WORD the couple in the next room said to be heard with crystal clarity. And their TV. And pretty much everything in the hall. The interesting thing is I asked what the...

This is a beautiful, historic hotel. The staff were all wonderful, the room clean and nicely appointed. My problem was there was a wedding and reception that went until 10:30 p.m. I was just surprised how much I could still hear with windows and doors closed. I ended up using ear plugs. Now, my room was the closest one to...

Stayed here for 2 nights in this beautiful place. Stayed in newly remodeled cabins just behind the main house. Very comfortable and cozy in beautiful surroundings. A wonderful porch you could sit on rockers, with little barnswallows that have nested were just learning to fly. Quiet and peaceful. The lobby is small, but welcoming with a stone fireplace. If unoccupied...

My 15 year old son and I are here for a road trip for only around 36 hours. I researched extensively the lodging options, and chose to stay in the Park. while further from the attractions (40 min from Mt Rushmore, and basically anything else), to stay in the park in an historic Lodge was just too good to pass...
