We have stayed at a large number of five star boutique hotels all over the world.Ten days in this wonderful four star family owned Gasthof was better than any of these. A beautifully modernised ancient inn, all the staff without exception were incredibly attentive and friendly, the bedrooms were large and very comfortable , the bathrooms were superb and very...

I had a comfortable room with a small balcony offering lovely views of the town and lake. Decor is rustic, exactly as you'd expect an Alpine gasthof to look. Driving down to the hotel to drop off my suitcase was a challenge, with all the narrow, winding, and one-way streets, but after a few false starts I managed it and...

Stayed in the 'family room' - great space for 3-4 people, although can get hot (and this was in October). Location is very good as you can walk to the lake or nearby places quickly. The restaurant meals were fantastic (goulash, meatballs etc) - service wasn't bad. While some on here mentioned feeling uncomfortable, I think this is mostly due...

This is our second stay in this hotel. Before booking we checked it was still owned by the same family. The hotel is spotless, the staff very friendly , and the food is delicious . One of the owners is the chef, he uses only locally sourced seasonal produce, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, to present a 4 course...

This hotel offers nice, fresh well decorated and uniquely designed rooms. The service at reception is excellent and very welcoming. Unfortunately the restaurant service for us was very poor. The restaurant was busy and we waited 30 minutes to get served and then had long waits between each course. We were on half board and the food we had was...

Lovely family run hotel. Great location and short walk to lake. Meals were lovely . I am a vegetarian but that wasn't a problem they always gave me an alternative. We were on a side room on third floor which was quiet. I don't understand previous reviews where people have moaned about the young staff favouring the Germans or Austrians....

From arrival to departure this was a pleasure, staff, accommodation, ambience and the food, all wonderful. This hotel will not disappoint. Coupled with this is its location in the beautiful village of St Gilgen which is close to Strazburg - a small and pleasant airport that is a treat to get in and out of in double quick time.

This was our base for a very enjoyable short stay recently. The hotel is very well positioned in the main square of the town where you can watch the comings and goings of daily life whilst enjoying breakfast or an evening meal from a very comfortable table. The welcome was warm and our room on the forth floor was very...

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Post. Really enjoyable stay in a very pleasant room overlooking the Mozartplatz. Some noise from the restaurant and the street but it was to be expected being at the front of the hotel with the nice view over the square. Very clean and comfortable room with fresh towels and bed linen whenever needed....

This was our second visit to Gasthof zur Post and again it proved the perfect base for a wonderful holiday on the beautiful Lake Wolfgang. The hotel itself is bang in the middle of the village and only a short walk from the stunning Lake. Zur Post has been impressively renovated but retains all of its history. Our room was...
