We chose to book this guesthouse because of its proximity to Innsbruck without being in the city traffic, but, if we were to do this again, we'd probably choose to stay in Hall, on the other side of Innsbruck, which was quaint and uncrowded. The guesthouse was more than adequate with a clean, comfortable room and substantial breakfast. We ate...

A nice experience just outside Innsbruck. We stayed here for one night on the way home from Italy. The food was good and staff was helpful! The ambience was nice and Austrian and the wifi was easily accesible. The hotel was like a maze though, had to run up and down different stairs to get to our room on the...

We book our stay for 3 nights at the Gasthof Zum Schupfen. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was quite helpful in our requests. I remind you this is a "Guesthouse". Meaning they have a bar and restaurant open for the public too. The Gasthof Zum Schupfen is located outside Innsbruck (6 to 7 KM). Don't panic! You can...

This is a great little hotel! It's only about a 5 minute drive into Innsbruck, so it's conveniently close yet removed from the hustle & bustle of the town. We loved waking up to look at the sun shining on the Alps too! The breakfast was full & delicious - typical German/European fare. The staff was very friendly and helpful....

We stayed here for one night travelling as we were travelling back to Italy. We found the room very comfortable, warm and clean and the free wifi was very handy. Yves and his mother were extremely welcoming, telling us the history of the hotel and giving us advice about local restuarants (the hotel restaurant was closed when we were there)....

This historic gem is a little outside the city, yes, but if you're a hiker, runner, or biker, you're close to Mutters. There is access to miles of trails leading up and around the Alps...where the locals go. Gorgeous! If you want to go into the city, the bus is literally across the road. We found the rooms to be...

I stayed here a couple a few months back. The Inn is of signicant cultural significance, and was a regular haunt of famous Tyroleon leader Andreas Hofer, who famously defeated the French at the battle of Bergisel. The Inn is very spacious, clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Rooms are very adequate and have a typical gemutlich feel, meaning...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a protected historic building in a classic Alpine style dating from 1400, the family-run Gasthof zum Schupfen is only a 10-minute drive from the centre of Innsbruck. It offers panoramic mountain views, an award-winning slow food restaurant, and free WiFi in public areas and most of the rooms. The spacious rooms overlook the mountains and feature light wooden furniture, a flat-screen satellite TV, and a bathroom. In Gasthof zum Schupfen's restaurant, guests can enjoy Tyrolean and international cuisine made from regional and seasonal products, as well as local juices and South Tyrolean wines. Herbs and vegetables come from the hotel's own garden. A varied breakfast buffet is served every morning. In fine weather, guests can enjoy breakfast on the terrace. The restaurant also has a garden, a bar, and a fireplace. Gasthof zum Schupfen is famous for serving as Tyrolean rebel leader Andreas Hofer's headquarters during the Battles of Bergisel in 1809. His room is now a museum and can be visited. The property also features a children's playground and a ski storage room. Free private parking is available on site. Several ski areas are a 10 to 20-minute drive away. The Innsbruck-Sud exit of the A13 motorway is a 2-minute drive away.
