I had the good fortune of staying here for 5 nights in June. The hotel, restaurant, and bar are run with family pride. Whether in the restaurant at night, or at breakfast in the morning, the owner made a point to greet us personally. I booked the basic room. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel is a 450m downhill...

Payerbach has very few hotels and this is one of the most decently located ones. Walking from the station, right at the highway. They provide bicycles on request on which you can explore beautiful places like hollental and other biking trails. Food is average. Beer is good. Price is the USP.

Me and my friends stayed at this hotel and I can say it is truly an unforgettable experience. That's why I have decided to write a review as this is probably the most welcoming hotel I have every stayed in thanks to the owner. We stayed for 2 nights with a half board and even though we booked the hotel...

I was a guest here as part of a group of about 15 for a week of training seminars. The accommodations were very nice, the staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. In fact, we tried to ask if they could provide smaller portions, but this wasn't possible (!!). It was wonderful to have the spa, including sauna and...

I have stayed in hundreds of good hotels around the world and have never written a review. The reason that I have decided to do so now, is because my son and I have just returned from a weekend at probably the most welcoming hotel I have ever stayed in. The host Heinz greeted us warmly as we arrived unannounced...

I just returned from a month long painting seminar held at the Payerbacherhof. I had a single room with full board. Heinz and Ina are wonderful hosts, doing everything they can to make us feel comfortable. The food was wonderful and gave me a great experience of Austrian cuisine. My room was very clean and cosy. I love what they...

I know this Pension VERY well and all my friends stay in it when they visit us here in the Rax Alps. Over all the other Pensions/hotels in the area Payerbacherhof is the most friendly and everyone is made to feel welcome. Heinz and Ina do everything they can to make sure guests are happy while not being too 'in...

The Payerbacherhof Hotel is an undiscovered gem and I am loath to put it out there but here goes. Payerbach is a tiny town on the rail line from Vienna to the Semmering one hour from Vienna. The hotel is within walking distance of the station and anyone who loves trains, walking, outdoors, tranquility and eating must go there. The...

“Sometimes if there are people in the sauna late at night, rooms directly above can hear the music so I would ask for a room as far away from the sauna as possible, just in case. The rooms above the Sauna are the new Frankl and Freud Suites and are lovely but if people are in the sauna late at night and have the music on, you will hear it.”
