The Royal Kona not only boasts an oceanside location with sunset views but also convenient access to the many tourist attractions on Ali'i Drive. The entrance to the hotel is inviting with portraits of Hawaiian royalty, pools, flowers, fountains and ample places to comfortably lounge in the shade or sun. Amenities include a small pool wedged in between an open...

Had to stay here for three nights due to other bookings and well it was okay but I have been better set up in a Super 8! Two puny little bath towels ...really? And no wifi unless you spend $10 more and okay parking $12... and the overhang blocks a lot of air and you can hear people around sliding...

My husband and I spent 1 night at the Royal Kona Resort. The resort grounds are beautiful and the location is great however the rooms could use some updating. The room was clean but old. We got an Ocean Front room and yes we could see the ocean but also had a dirty roof right in front of our balcony...

What a lovely place. Room was clean and we loved the floor to ceiling wooden shutters, yes there were windows in behind that had amazing views. Breakfast outside looking over the ocean was fantastic. We could watch all the people swimming with the dolphins. The food was great - fresh papaya every morning with a buffet with a huge variety....

Came with my family, including two children, and as we were approaching he hotel there was a man with blood running down his face being questioned by a police officer. As I waited in the lobby area during check in a guest was clearly drunk walking through. Hotel is very dated. Pool is sad with only a few sagging lounge...

I had previously stayed at the Royal Lahaina in Maui, which is this hotel's sister hotel and loved my experience. I had the same hopes but they were drastically changed. The hotel itself is located in an ideal location right in the heart of Kailua Kona. We could walk to restaurants and shops. We were centrally located between things to...

We stayed a week on our very first visit to Hawaii. The resort is dated (at least in the tower we stayed, I believe the 2 others are updated inside) but clean. Front desk staff helpful. Wifi very pricey at $10 plus tax per night per device which was the main drawback. Free at the bar area so we non-drinkers...

We just arrived yesterday, late. We paid extra for an ocean front. Have to say that this is spectacular views. Also very close to town as I could walk there for coffee and breakfast in 2 minutes. Liz, the receptionist that checked us in was extremely helpful and nice. The downside of this place is it's old. It should have...

We returned to Royal Kona for the fifth time for a family event being held at another hotel nearby. We love this hotel. We are welcomed like family. The staff are happy to see you, and always greet you as you pass. This time the hotel was quite busy, but it never felt over crowded. The rooms are large, comfortable...

We had a nice size room with a view of the bay and ocean. It had a balcony that we put to good use. The grounds were pretty and well kept. Property is in a good location for food, drink and shopping. All within a short walk. Staff was warm and helpful. Hotel is older but well maintained. The next...
