Please, combine together all negative reviews from this topic and you will get mine. I was unlucky to stay in a mountain view room, facing the road. Noisy (both from the road and from the air-con), dirty, old kitchen, old bath, terrible linen. We escaped from the room the next morning. I'd have rated the hotel with 5 stars had...

My family of four recently spent 7 nights in the Kona Bali Kai. I had stayed here about 25 years ago as a teenager with my parents, and I wanted to take my kids. So glad I did. I did A LOT of research thinking maybe something else would be better. I know that there are many more luxurious accommodations...

It is always very enjoyable to hear that a family vacation in Hawaii is everything that was expected, we work every day to make this happen. I am pleased that Kona Bali Kai is now part of your memories of Hawaii that will last your family a lifetime. Until we meet again. “A hui hou kakou” Stephen Hicks

Though the view was nice (how can you go wrong with a Hawaiian ocean view) our overall experience was poor. The room was not the greatest (or the cleanest) and much of the advertised functions were just not there. Wireless is not available in the rooms and you have to go in the lobby to use it. The kitchen was...

After staying at 2 other Castle Resort Properties on 2 different islands we expected much more than what Kona Bali Kai had to offer. We were very dissappointed. It started off with the staff at the front desk..very unfriendly and impersonable. The first room that they gave us was very old, and it smelt like bug spray mixed with a...

Went with the 1BR ocean view and it was incredible. The sea breeze was refreshing and we could see sea turtles swim onto the beach. Our issue was that the woman who checked us in was unfriendly and sneered when I asked to be moved to a top floor room as I had requested in the reservations months earlier. The...

Aloha, I was please to here that you enjoyed the incredible view and refreshing ocean breeze. I do apologize for the reception you received from my staff at the front desk; I would hope that your first impression would have been warm and receptive as our staff usually is here at Kona Bali Kai. Certain staff there was very rude to the baseball team that I was staying with, especially the manager. If you're on a trip you want to relax and have fun, we were told to keep quiet all the time including at the pool and we had approx kids with us. We were spoken to in a rude manner and the...

This was Memorial Day Weekend and there was a lot of activity at our resort throughout the days and into the night. The property was full and there were multiple groups staying at our resort. One group in particular was extremely noisy throughout the weekend. We had multiple calls about the noise at the pool and the parties late at...

We stayed here with our 1 year old son for 4 nights. My Sister was getting married on The Big Island and she and a few of her guests well also using these condos. We all booked through the same agent and all of us were happy with each of the condos. Our condo was on the 2nd floor and...

We went for a sports tournament and some of the children were left in tears. They were told they couldnt make noise in the pool area or any where else. They charged us over $700 for a 4 night stay with no courtesy offered to us. Some staff were very rude and others had a "I could care less attitude"....

This is not a typical hotel experience. Be sure you know your expectations for accomodations. We have stayed here three times and generally had a good experience, with some glitches. Upside: These are small condo units so they can provide more of an at-home experience - fully supplied kitchens, washer/dryer, etc. It's a little like staying in a friend's apartment....

We stayed two nights (21 and 22 April 2012) at the Kona Bali Kai in a studio unit across the road from the ocean. The unit was somewhat dated, but with a good bed, spacious, and with a lanai looking towards the ocean (which however was largely obscured by the main hotel building opposite). Being on a busy road there...
