We paid $75/night for a private room and the room was super hot and the window was busted. It felt like crashing in your ghetto friend`s spare bedroom. We`ve stayed in hostels around the world and this was one of the worst, even compared to third-world country hostels.

The hostel is located in the suburbs of Kona, but certainly in walking distance to the beach and all the amenities. It is a very unique hostel, but in a great way. I've never stayed at a better cleaned and maintained place. It's compulsory not to wear shoes, which is fine by me. Last night, the neighbors carved up a...

This is my first time staying in hostel I'm amaze of how clean and quiet the place is. I can see the ocean from my bed room window, I stay in a private room shared bath (clean bath room), for single 55 bucks (tax included) and I believe extra 10 dollar for additional guest. Very close from Ali'i street which...

I really enjoyed my stay at Koa Wood Hale Inn/ Patey's Place. The staff were very helpful, especially for giving tips of things to see, figuring out the local bus/shuttle and finding other travelers staying there to ride share. They have many rules, but it's all to help keep the place quiet, clean and safe, and to keep peace with...

Stayed at Koa Wood Hale Inn for three nights and liked it a lot. Nice facilites and great location. Great staff, guests and atmosphere where common courtesy is encouraged and appreciated (e.g. quiet hours, don't leave a mess for others, etc.). The neighbors are another story though. I swear the neighbor across the street washed his beater car every morning...

I had a great stay at Patey's place. Ben and Jason made were great hosts- they made me feel like I was at my home away from home. The rooms, restroom, lounge and patio were clean and well kept. I really enjoyed spending an evening on the patio swapping stories with the guests. Ben- Your spaghetti & meatballs rocked.

Has a great home like feel. Great kitchen and living area. Free parking right on the street. I'm kind of quiet but i really liked the staff and people there. Could have been a bit cleaner. I sent a reservation in online, but i don't think they ever got it. But no worries I called the day before and was...

Stayed there for 3 nights in August. Room well kept but very simple and aged. Bed sheets looked semi clean but did smell of laundry detergent. Problem is noise. The house is made of wood so noise travels very easily. Stayed upstairs and could hear very word that was said in the room downstairs. The owner is trying his best...
