We booked our first trip to Hawai'i last-minute and weren't sure where to stay in the Kona area - many of the budget options (e.g. a private room in a hostel) were already booked by the time we started looking. We ended up staying five...More

We stayed in the Malia room for two nights. It was a clean, cozy place to stay, and I love hearing the the frogs at night and the chickens in the morning. Ken and Sunny were friendly and knowledgeable about the island and were happy...More

My husband, parents, and I stayed at this Big Island B&B over Thanksgiving. It was quiet, the owner and managers were very good hosts, and the breakfast was delicious. The location was easy to find and relatively close to Kona for restaurants and recreation. We...More

The two nights we stayed here was fantastic. Clean rooms, oasis kind of place from the hot Kona coast. Only minutes from anywhere you want to visit in Kona and sets up on the mountain among the natural vegetation. Surrounded by papaya, mango, citrus and...More

It has been a long time since I stayed there but the owner/operator is pretty true to his words. He tries hard in a tough environment (natural) to keep it "clean". Nope, it will likely never be like the Resorts at Kukio, etc. I have stayed in both. You get where ya go. This spot is not for all, so be careful and considerate if you do go. As has been said, there is a lot of aloha here so go with the flow. Enjoy it so.
