We really enjoyed our stay at Sauerdough Lodging. The room had everything we needed and was quite comfortable. Totally walkable to all over Seward. It's also really hard to go wrong with a great coffee shop just down the stairs!

Wonderful! Room 2 (Sleeper?) It might be too funky for some people (e.g., shower is in a clawfoot tub), but was perfect for us (and much better than most Seward accommodations). Well equipped kitchen. View of Mt. Marathon from our room (partial). Only issues were a burned-out lightbulb and some very wobbly metal chairs, but those were easily fixed.

The wilderness room was so cute and cozy I wanted to move in and stay awhile. The location couldn't get any better. I hope to be back and would highly recommend the place! The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The tile in the bathroom was very cool, especially with the claw foot tub.

In Seward 2 nights early september. Really enjoyed being in the downtown area; very short walks to good restaurants, the Aquariam, and the waterfront. historical building with very nicely appointed rooms and kitchens, flat screen TV, sitting room. no problems parking right in front. Clean and attractive and roomy. Nice touch to have the complimentary wine every evening in the...

This was a great place to stay in Seward. It is right downtown on the main street, so it is just steps from many good restaurants, shops and attractions. Matt the owner was a great guy. Very friendly and easy-going; we really enjoyed talking with him. The suites are all quite beautiful and surprisingly tasteful for such a small town,...

My wife and I came to Seward yesterday. While walking around this lovely small town we noted the great menu at the Sauerdough Lodging building. We had breakfast at Sauerdough this morning. It has a lovely eating area. One orders at the counter from a healthy list of dishes. My wife had baked oatmeal with strawberries with great coffee; I...

Cosy and comfortable, old world charm (pressed metal walls) with modern facilities (everything you need to self cater in a well designed kitchenette). The bed was comfortable and the fold down divan equally so! A full size old fashioned claw foot bath with shower over was lovely to soak in after being out all day hiking or cruising. So central...

We stayed at the Sourdough Lodging for two nights. It was clean, comfortable, and convenient. It is located right in town and you can walk to the local establishments. You will need your car to get to the docks. We had a full kitchen, full bath, and plenty of room for two adults and three older teenagers. We stayed in...

We expected this place to be a boutique hotel in historic downtown Seward. I would just call the building historic. The lodging was up a long flight of stairs with keypad entry to the stairs and room. The bed was small but ok and the room was huge and included a full kitchen. The shower was a converted clawfoot tube...

Older place with lots of character. Comfortable loding that was a bit pricy, but most of seward is higher anyway. I would definitely stay here again. It's within walking distance to plenty of shops and restaurants. Check out the sea bean cafe for some excellent food.
