We stayed here 3 nights. It is just far enough out of town to feel remote, but close enough so you can go into Seward and do things. The sites were a good size. Bathroom and shower facilities were good, and they had a small coffee shop on site. Only critique, we could not figure out if they had a dump station. Otherwise, would recommend.
Great location and wonderful activities and personnel. I’d like to give all workers 5 stars but we did have some issues that they should address and keep a closer eye on. One of the two tandem Kayak we rented was leaking. Spray skirt for one of the four of us did not fit the kayak. Yes I should have checked but they rushed us into the water taxi and dropped us off without reviewing the equipment. They had wood for sale at the campground but only available for one of the 4nights we were at the campground. I was happy to split more but only allowed to do that once. I also notice the Emergancy beacons that the guide should have were not working. We did no use guides but just a note they should be checking these address these issues.
We loved Miller's Landing. We stayed in one of their cabins on site. The cabin was not well maintained but perfect for what we needed and provided us with close access to all our activities. . The water taxi was perfect for our one day hiking excursion and we plan to return and camp on one of their beaches. We also had a great time on the half day fishing charter. We were provided us with the gear we needed and the captain told us exactly how to fish (we all maxed out on rock fish). They were also very helpful and worked with us to get our fish packaged and shipped
What an amazing crew we were given. They taught us so much it was amazing. We limited out on everything. They had us all laughing and fishing. They trip was way beyond anything we could have imagined it to be. I'm so very very greatfull. Thank you for the best day ever. We will be back.
It is a beautiful spot on the water but the property is not well maintained. I understood this was a forest service cabin and was rustic, however the cabin we rented was not fit to be a garden shed. It was right on the main entrance road next to where they use tractors to put their fishing fleet into the water there for loud, and smelled like rotting fish. In general the whole place looked a mess. The cabin was not level, there was no place to sit outside but there were no screens on the door or windows so no ventilation without letting in mosquitos. Rat or squirrel droppings inside, the two chairs and a lamp were junk yard rejects and no ladder to access the 6ft high bunk. Outside bathroom facilities were foul and falling apart. Every opportunity to charge extra was taken, tokens for showers, wood for fires, water. The guide we had for kayaking was inexperienced and gave out comically incorrect information, even the chair I sat on on the lodge deck to wait for my tour fell apart under me. Seriously I would have felt compelled to donate to them, but instead I just felt taken for having booked my vacation there.…
