My mom turned 60 this year right before Christmas and unfortuantely all of our plans for her celebration were canceled due to COVID regulations. We come to the Fairmont evey year around this time and were bummed that the lobby/resturants had to be closed but still wanted to do what we could to make this stay special. Most of the front desk staff (including an employee who used to be a Concierge) were so kind and helpful in making this a memorable weekend for my mom. They helped me order ballons, place it in the room, a cake, store it for us, and had the room ready early so we could decorate it prior to her arrival. They send a little birthday note with chcolcates and gave her a comp room upgrade as well. I felt very safe during my stay here as they followed all COVID guidelines extremely well and took extra health measures. I'm excited to go back to see the newly renovated lobby and restaurants as soon as they can reopen! :)…
Had a pretty terrible stay here recently. Came here with my wife for our anniversary, there was no underground parking (it was under construction), no EV charger, but i still got hit with the $60 per day parking fee for self parking my car in front of the hotel. Close to downtown which as a result of COVID is a ghost town; very limited food options within walking distance. The room was pretty affordable rate and well appointed. Most of the staff was very friendly and hospitable with a few notable exceptions. Door guys were great, knew my name, offered us waters and umbrellas when we came and left. ladies at the front desk helped out a lot. Coffee shop guy was great. What was not so great was the lobby manager? of the hotel, upon my return, tried to get me to sign in as a guest and didn't believe I was staying there until the coffee shop guy told him he'd seen me before. There were probably 20 other people total staying at the hotel... you should know your guests at a place like this. Because of COVID, basically anything of consequence you'd want to do at the hotel was closed (bars, restaurant super limited, no pool). Kind of wild that you still pay the resort fees when there's basically nothing of resort caliber available. I tried to get change to tip the valet, so I went into one of the shops (wearing a mask because of covid). I am of an imposing stature, no doubt, but as I entered cash in hand, the woman working there seemed startled and remarked to me that they "don't have any cash at shops in the hotel". strange for a retail store... My wife booked a facial and prenatal massage at the spa and the masseuse was not made aware of this fact, and began aggressively pressing on my wife's back, effectively putting my unborn child at risk. Thankfully her massage was comped as a result of this but that's pretty unacceptable. Per my wiife, the Facial was $$$$ price, but $$ quality. From the totality of all these circumstances, we decided to end our stay a day early and leave. Overall, the rooms were really nice and i'm sure it's a decent hotel in normal times, but i'd liken staying here to an experience at Fawlty Towers. Next time we're in Seattle, we'll be staying at the Four Seasons.…
The room was a little small of what we expected for the price we paid. However, the bathroom is comfortable with separate sink and toilet. We had a refrigerator but did not have a microwave which was a little disappointing. These days even the cheapest motel have microwaves. Wifi was super fast. The staff was super friendly and helped us planning our tours. The location is excellent as you can walk mostly everywhere downtown. Pool and hot tub were closed! The 'discount' for breakfast at their shop is a joke, doesn't even cover the price of a croissant. But overall the place is quiet, clean and the elevators and super fast.
Stayed here while preparing for a job and it was a very good experience. It had everything I expected for a Fairmont and then some. Grand experience on the driveway and the lobby was a nice place to have a drink with some friends and clients. Rooms are big enough to do a bit of work and spread out.
really impressive I must admit. at the heart of Seattle is this amazing hotel. trust me everything was on point. awesome reception to awesome rooms, I got the royal treatment I deserve as a royal. definitely will check it out again
