The beds were comfortable! But other than that it was kind of bad. We had to rig the window to stay open, we had to rig our phone chargers to charge in the 1 and only outlet in the room and there was no tv or anything. The bathrooms were across the hall and very small. It is definitely a...

Not super fancy, but great for a guy wanting to go to ball games and the market. I could walk everywhere. You can't find a better price for the location. Not a tea drinker but thought the tea was good.

I was a bit surprised by a couple of things, the massive stairways upon entering the building and the bathroom across the hall. Clearly I hadn't read the description of the property very well as the restroom situation surprised me. However the historic value of the building very much outweighed that. When I checked in the owner Jan was there...

Shared toilets are really unpleasant and I recall not even having a lock! Room was relatively clean but common areas not so much and it does smell leather all over the place due to their `"historic" floors. No soundproof at all! I could hear everything, neighbours.. and outside as if you were there with window closed! Except for one relatively...

So I have to admit.. I booked this trip for work and didn't read all the details like the shared bathroom and shower, but knew that I was getting to stay downtown Seattle for peanuts. All in all, excellent place. The history alone is worth the trip. From checkin, which I got in late due to a wonderful delayed flight,...

Stayed at this hotel as it showed very close to the train station, only 4 blocks uphill the whole way. We arrived at the front door and opened it and were greeted by a long staircase to get to check in. The man who checked us in was very friendly but I find it very strange that they were unable...

Access was difficult with many stairs and doors across stairs before getting to reception area. Checking in was confusing with young staff trying to deal with more than one client at a time. The room and facilities were very basic with shared amenities that often had dirty bath tub and no toilet paper. The bed was original from japan and...

I stayed here with a friend, I guess like a lot of people because it does have way more reasonable rates compared to other downtown hotels. I would say that we did stay during the Labor Day weekend so I'm guessing it was probably quite busy for the staff- they were quite mixed, one was really awesome and others kind...

My room was neat and clean, the shared women's bathroom down the hall was also very neat and clean. The only problem I had was getting my suitcase down the massive set of stairs in the morning when I went to leave. There's no elevator because it is on the historic register. A polite man working there during the day...

In short: It’s nothing like a modern hotel experience but if you need to be downtown for less than $140 a night, it can work. Just not with kids. Pros: Costs less than most other downtown hotels, very convenient to baseball and football stadiums, train station and ferry terminal, decent Japanese food nearby. It’s clean. Cons: terrible wi-fi, ancient spring...
