The copper whale is located on the outskirts of Anchorage overlooking the sound. It a very friendly comfortable place to stay, close to staying with friends. Owner Gary and Staff were always very helpful. Absolutely OUTSTANDING continental breakfast, with high grade gormet breada, fresh fruit with coveted berries with yogurt and granola as desired. The only negative is lack of...

This smaller Inn often times has discount coupons in a local coupon book, which we like to take advantage. Most rooms are spacious and several have private bathrooms. There is one room on the street front that you'll want to avoid because of noisy traffic all night and early morning deliveries next door. Parking is almost non-existent. The manager is...

We collected a car at Anchorage airport and drove to the Copper Whale. It was fully occupied for our stay when we booked from Australia so we settled on the only room left a twin. Glenn greeted us on arrival and could not have been more charming or informative. The bedroom was small but this wasn’t a problem as we...

The Copper Whale Inn nestles on a corner of downtown Anchorage, near to the start of the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. It is clean, comfortable and has a lot of character - our room wasn't large but it was well appointed and very comfy. It is a little further to walk from here to the downtown shopping area, about 7-10mins,...

This small inn on a busy street corner has good-sized rooms with fireplaces and small but adequate bathrooms. Service from reception staff seems mixed: we had a very helpful guy meet us but the following day the duty guy seemed completely indifferent to customer needs

After almost 24 hours trip from Sao Paulo to Anchorage (including 8 hours stop at Chicago) I could reach the hotel. Found my name on a paper on door with instructions. Very comfortable. Tall and comfortable bed. Good breakfast and very friendly staff. It's a place to stay in Anchorage.

From the moment, I connected with The Copper Whale Inn, my experience was wonderful. The reservation process was easy and I had to make a last minute change. They worked with me and explained things kindly. When I arrived at the Inn, the experience continued. All of the staff were accommodating and very customer service oriented. The Inn is central...

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you enjoyed your visit and our Alaskan hospitality. I'll take a look at the sofa - thank you for bringing this to my attention. It's that time of year, at the end of our busy summer season, when we catch up on all those little things.

We had 2 nights here at the start of our recent trip to Alaska. This small privately run historic hotel (one of the few buildings to survive the 1964 earthquake) was a great choice for us. The welcome was warm and friendly, and Glenn was a great host - informative and helpful. We had a room in the building at...

Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed our Alaskan hospitality. We stayed here two nights. Once at the beginning of out trip, when we were in a room in the smaller building. Comfortable bed, quiet location, good breakfast. The second night, a week later, we were in the front room facing the street, which was incredibly noisy, even with ear plugs until around midnight. It sounded like a drag strip....

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your first visit and I'm sorry for the street noise on the second stay. Believe me, if I could do something about it, I would, but my preferred solution of a noise-seeking missile for those motorcycles and loud trucks would probably wake everyone up!
