This hotel was an apartment building at one time and therefore has efficiencies. It was very clean, comfortable and half the price of the other hotels per night. Staff was friendly and a nice plate of cookies was baked fresh everyday. They always had a basket of fruit in the lobby and each morning a continental breakfast was delivered to...

We stayed at the Anchorage Grand Hotel for a week, as we explored that city on foot and took day tours beyond it. We found the rooms much to our liking. They were clean and comfortable and on a very clear day [of which we had few] we could see the top of Denali in the distance. Lucky, David, and...

The staff is awesome, courteous and helpful. They go out their way to accommodate. However the suite is okay, the heat wasn't working in our room, (come on it's Alaska). We were given a space heater. The breakfast left something to be desired. But it's half block from Alaska Railroad and 2 blocks from downtown

The hotel was somewhat dated, yet very clean and accommodating to my large family. It is only a small walk to the downtown area, but for those who prefer, buses are regular in the area. The Alaskan Railway is behind the hotel and on rare occasions a train horn is blared, but it didn't bother us.

Nice older hotel, reasonably priced for the area. Suite with kitchenette. Drawbacks, right next to train station, parking is not exactly convenient and the need new mattresses badly, ours had a horrible dip in the middle that you would literally have to pull yourself out of to turn over.

This is a boutique hotel with a small number of rooms, but our room was a suite with a bedroom, pull-out couch in the living room and a kitchen. It worked out great for our nights in Anchorage. It is very close to the train station, Ulu knife factory and the Anchorage Market, and easy walking distance from pretty much...

For the one night between coming in on the train and leaving for a cruise, this hotel was acceptable but definitely no extra frills or 'grand'ness. The location was very convenient and easily walked from the train station (uphill). We had a handicap accessible room. There was also a kitchenette. Breakfast was delivered, but was a granola bar, microwaveable oatmeal,...

One of the closest hotels to the Alaska Railroad Anchorage Depot. We reserved through Booking.com for two nights prior to our journey. We had an excellent experience at this small family-run hotel. Some nits: The hotel is located on a steep hill. So our suite with kitchen (more like a small one bedroom apartment) on the first floor required us...

Sorry to pile on with many of the other reviews, but I will be as fair as possible. PROS: Convenient location for walking to shops, restaurants, and bars. Room size is great, with basically a full kitchen. Front desk woman was pleasant. They gladly held our box of fish in their freezer overnight at no charge. Bed was comfortable. CONS:...
