Room was clean. Carol was very friendly and helpful. Commons was nice and comfortable with classical music on the radio. We had to get out at 4:00AM to catch an airplane from Anchorage so we missed breakfast. Homey and quite nice. Close to downtown but not on a through street so road noise was minimal. Close to the Alaska Railway...

I hadn't really stayed in (or even thought of staying in) a Bed & Breakfast until our Alaska trip. All of the hotels in Anchorage and Fairbanks seems overpriced, so I looked into alternatives and noticed a number of charming looking B&Bs. Arctic Fox looked promising for it's location and price, and it surpassed our expectations. The room and common...

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of a trip driving around Alaska. The staff (unfortunately I can't remember the person's name) gave us some great tips on things to do and see on our trip. It definitely added to our vacation!

We booked from home and Larry was so helpful and informative we felt comfortable right away. When we arrived after a long flight, a young man from Serbia greeted us, took our bags to our room, and settled us in with first class, professional service. The room (#5) was amazing, with a large picture window with a view of the...

Arrived at the arctic fox on Sept. 8 2016, after a very, very long flight from Maine. The keys and a note were left in the office door as it was past 10:00. Had a few directional challenges in finding our upstairs suite, but once we did it was perfect! Dropped our bags and headed out to try to find...

We were so impressed, the rooms were lovely, like new condition and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was very good, fresh fruit, quiche, cereal, yogurt, so much more. Everything was top quality, we didn't want to leave.

What a great place! Close to downtown Anchorage easy to find. The grounds were delightful with flowers and many outside sitting areas. Great amenities such as high in linens, large size bath towels, a well equipped apartment with real high quality dishes and glasses, nice and comfortable beds. And an outstanding morning breakfast. The caramel French Toast was to die...

We expected a property that would be interesting, quaint, but really just a place to crash while exploring the area. What we found was a beautiful oasis. Clean, quiet, well decorated, fantastic and healthy breakfast, full of kind, caring people. Rules in place keep it nice, quiet, and the oasis it is. The people running it truly care about their...

We just had one night in Anchorage and really happy we spent it here. Not too far out of town so restaurants were within walking distance. Room had a beautiful updated bathroom and the bed was comfortable. Delicious breakfast with a charming hostess. Highly recommend!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our property sits on the edge of downtown Anchorage overlooking the Cook Inlet, AK Railroad train depot, Ship Creek (urban salmon fishing!), Historic Government Hill, and one of the only water towers in Alaska. The call of seagulls and a light, salty breeze will remind guests that they're near the ocean, while distant train whistles and the sound of bush planes pay homage to The Last Frontier. Our multiple decks and outdoor seating areas are a great place to relax with your group and enjoy all the perks of being so close to the city and wilderness, which means you can simultaneously take in views of the city and uninhabited mountain ranges. We offer a range of upscale room options, from private rooms with a shared bath to complete two bedroom suites with living area, kitchen & fireplace. “The area may look a bit scary as it is downtown. But we were never concerned. A homeless shelter or soup kitchen is nearby but we were not bothered by anyone. Upon making my reservation the owner/manager called me and suggested we upgrade from a studio unit to the two bedroom apartment since there were four of us. The upgrade cost was minimum and we are so glad we did. We are sure we were much more comfortable.”
