Like most road trips, days don't always go as planned...(too many side trips 😛). So by chance we stayed... Had read a couple of reviews but not really swayed one way or the other. The owner was not there upon our arrival but one of the housekeepers were ... We needed to call the owner to check for availability ......

So, you have to stay over in Tule Lake? Don't fret! Book your room at the Ellis and embrace the area! In the past, Tule Lake was a major hunting destination and bustling agricultural town. Vestiges of both remain and the Ellis was a cool accommodation... And still is. It is under renovation, but in speaking with the owner, she...

Friendly staff, great value, tidy rooms. The surprise was the kitchette equipped with gas stove, oven separate room for dining. The only thing to criticize is. There are two Dogs that run around, our daughter is scared of that. And even though the bed linen and everything was clean. The house keeper left much to be desired in the bathroom. To...

We were dead tired and in need of a good night's sleep. There aren't many choices in this area. The two star reviews here had us concerned, but based on the five star reviews, we gave it a try. Yes, the rooms are small, but all we needed was a bed. Our room had a double bed and a twin...

Needed a place to sleep and shower on my walking trek from Ventura to Canada after many nights in my tent. Was told that the Ellis Motel was the best in town, so I am shocked to think how the other few might be. The motel is just north of town and right on the highway. I was on foot,...

Please let me qualify this review. I am a seasoned hunter and have packed in on horses, spent long hunts in a tent with 20 degree nights, but at 65 and somewhat of a ladida lady have now graduated to my 21' trailer with a slide out and walkaround queen and a full bath. However on this trip, we decided...

I would like to give a shout-out to any weary travelers near Tulelake, CA to take a pit-stop at the Ellis Motel. I have stayed at the Ellis Motel on several occasions and am very happy with the accommodations! The furnishings are quaint and dated, but to me, this is what makes it a place to rest. The rooms are...

I stayed at this motel for 4 nights while I was working at the Tulelake Fair. I was thrilled to be so close to the fair because, last time, I commuted from Klamath Falls, OR (30 miles away). Opening the door, the first thing I saw was a fly swatter, and thought "Oh my..." and, sure enough, that first night...

The Ellis Motel was a refreshing experience. The rooms are simple with a good bed. a hot shower, nd a good cup of coffee. The kitchens are adorable. Like a cabin. It is cozy and reminds you a good warm cup of hot chocolate. It is simple. Back to the basics. It is refreshing. The area is beautiful and quiet....
