The hosts have personalised this wonderful place with authentic Icelandic decorations; the view over the little bay is particularly beautiful from the main lounge and some of the bedrooms, and the home-made breakfast is utterly delicious, freshly baked breads every morning not to speak of the utterly delicious home made Happy Marriage Cake. The hosts are very open, welcoming, and...

We stayed at the Borgarnes Bed and breakfast for one night. We had a warm welcome and our room (1st floor) was quite big with big windows. The breakfast includes everything you want and they make reaaaally good pancakes :-) The keeper also gave us very good sightseeing advices, such as the natural hot tub half an hour away from...

Beautiful, peaceful location overlooking the water, convenient to Reykjavik and the Snaefellsjokull peninsula. Breakfast was outstanding, in particular the homemade breads made by the lovely owner who also recommended a great restaurant within walking distance for lunch and evening meals. Only wish I could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this piece of paradise.

Stayed for one night. The owners are very friendly and the house was nicely located in town. Great breakfast. The bathrooms and guest rooms were clean and very nice. Not the best wi-fi connection but it was only a one night stay so not an issue. Great location if traveling to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

on the bay. Best breakfast in 2+ weeks of travel. Wonderfully helpful and informative owners. Definitely would recommend. WiFi constantly cut out in room. Owners acknowledged the ongoing issue and strived to improve the router. WiFi worked well in the shared living room area lovely situated with a gorgeous view out to the water.

We spent one night at this charming bed and breakfast on our way to the North Fjords. We had spent the day touring the Golden Circle were running late and were a bit worried about our reservation. A quick call to the lovely owner assured us all would be fine. Our room was huge with beautiful views, the beds and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Founded in February 2008, famous for the hostess's breakfast buffet, Borgarnes Bed & Breakfast is a favorite spot for people from all over the world who want to relax for shorter or longer periods in a quiet and relaxing ambiance and at the same time have the opportunity to enjoy a big part of Iceland. We are located in the heart of Borgarnes, in Englendingavik creek, the protected historical center of town, with an outstanding view over the mysterious Borgarfjordur fjord. Only a walking distance from the sea, the Icelandic Settlement Center, restaurants and the playground Bjossarolo this Borgarnes's renowned Guesthouse is in a house that was built for the rich people of Borgarnes approximately 70 years ago. Even though it is popular as an accommodation for families, couples and individuals, with its 8 bedrooms, big kitchen and dining rooms it is a good idea for little groups to rent the whole house for one or more nights to enjoy a time of their own. As such the house has accommodated recreation week-ends, birthday parties, confirmation celebrations, just to give some examples. From Borgarnes you have a variety of shorter and longer hikings and you can do day tours on Borgarfjordur region, Dalir region, Snaefellsnes peninsula, Vatnsnes peninsula in the north, the Golden circle of the South coast and even go for the highland where you can have a taste of Iceland's second largest glacier. The staff is more than willing to help you organize your own ideas of a relaxing or an adventurous day before you head off in the morning. ... more   less
