We stopped here for lunch - it's right on the main road. Service was excellent and friendly and lunch turned out to be great. In particular they have wonderful home baked cakes. The place is clean with nice decor and I'd certainly recommend it if unit are passing and need a bite to eat.

Having prebooked Café Margret months in advance we had the big disappointment to be sent away on arrival. As we were the only guests that night, they had decided to close down for a thorough cleaning, they told us. They sent us to a nice hotel nearby, same owner, but we did not come for a nice hotel: we came...

Having stayed here last October and really enjoyed the accommodation and food ... I booked to stay again in mid-May. Confirmation received I turned up to find a somewhat faded note on the door saying for keys contact a hotel in the town nearby. They were actually sort of expecting us as it seems Cafe Margret was not open yet...

What an excellent place to stay! 4 rooms a wonderful restaurant ... and despite being out of the normal season and there only being 2 rooms booked ... the choice for dinner was from a full menu. We stopped at Cafe Margaret by accident for lunch. We were passing it on the road and it looked really cute. The food was wonderful, the location is pretty. It's quiet and cute, the staff is friendly. We did not stay here, but would love to do it next time around. Rooms looked pretty and clean.

We stayed here one night when travelling anti-clockwise round iceland. The weather was exceptionally windy and cafe Margret provided a welcome break. They provided a lovely breakfast where we enjoyed the beautiful views.

Cafe Margret is a very pleasant small guesthouse attached to a little, very German, restaurant overlooking the water near the small town of Breiddalsvik. As well as Margret herself, it seems to be staffed by a large contingent of young German women, and the menu is all German food, so it feels much more German than Icelandic. The rooms are...
