The Steinar Guesthouse was a great start to our vacation. It is a short driving distance to both Keflavik airport and the Reykjvic city centre. There is a gas station and general store within walking distance. There is free wifi available as well as the use of a kitchen. It is private in the sense that the employees aren't usually...

We found this sweet spot last minute, late at night after spending a couple of hours at the Blue Lagoon. It was only twenty-minutes away, we prepaid online and upon arrival no one answered but the door was unlocked. There was a note on the wall to call a number just above the phone at the desk. We called, a...

Small guesthouse near Keflavik Airport in Grindavik, a small town. We had a spacious room for 3, one adult and 2 kids. Good beds, the bathroom was clean. Only minor problem was that there were not enough chairs for all the guest to have breakfast simultaneously.

Steinar can be seen as either very odd or how an ideal guesthouse should run if you trust everyone. We arrived and essentially checked ourselves in with the help of a phone call to the manager (somewhere offsite but close by) using our Icelandic sim enabled iphone (Simin – purchased in the little grocery store in the arrivals area of...

We would certainly stay here again. It is clean, comfortable and within easy distance from KEF airport. Some things to know, the main house has no en suite rooms (much of Iceland is shared facilities). Breakfast is self serve but the kitchen was fairly well stocked and can be used for other meals as well. Free Internet and decent signal...

we hadn't been to iceland before so didn't know what to expect of a guesthouse - this one was easy to find, which was a good start. no one was there so we rang the number on the door and they said just to "go on in and that we were in room 1". we met Maggi later, and paid...

We stayed two nights. The house is not lived in by an owner or worker; guests are on their own. For the most part this is OK as a lovely young woman who works there lives nearby. She is very nice and as helpful as possible. The house is clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast is do-it-yourself, and was a bit...

My three sisters and I stayed here after arriving from the U.S. Loved the place and the small fishing village. The rooms were large and the beds were great. There are 4 rooms upstairs, one downstairs and a separate suite. We booked the triple room and the price is very reasonable. It just felt warm and inviting. There are two...

We stayed at Steinar Guesthouse for one night. It is a lovely small house in Grindavik next to the harbour. As we were the only guests we had the whole house for ourselves. There is a charming living room at the ground floor with TV and sofas. Next to it a small but fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms, one...
