This is the closest hotel to the famous, but very touristy and commercial Blue Lagoon. The hotel is situated in a lava bud area, making the views breathtaking. The rooms are a bit smaller than one would expect, but nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. They have a great package to go with the entire experience. The only reason I didn't...

We stayed here on the first night of a 4 day trip to Iceland. The simple elegance of the hotel was lovely, our room was clean, comfortable and roomy with a spacious bathroom and shower. Doors onto the patio gave us a wonderful view over the lava fields. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional (standard Icelandic service). As we...

Like many people this was our last stop in Iceland. And this was a great way to relax and unwind from a week of travel. The hotel is modern and has an industrial-design feel to it as it is right next door to the hydropower plant -- which is what feeds the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is not a...

Just returned from a one night stay. We were a family of four and so had to book two rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful and the private lagoon is absolutely stunning and relaxing. However, I was disappointed with the service for a few reasons: 1. I booked this hotel 9 months in advance and sent several emails asking for...

We spent 6 days in Iceland and this was our last stop before flying home the next day. It is conveniently located about 20 mins from the Keflavik airport, yet far enough away from everything to be serene and peaceful. We were a group of 4, so we had to get 2 rooms, and while it may seem pricey, each...

We stayed at the Silica Hotel for the last night of our trip, and after having driven around the country for the previous 6 nights, this was the perfect ending to an amazing vacation. While expensive, we would definitely stay here again. We arrived at the hotel an hour and a half before our check-in time, and they were able...

I stayed for one night in February, and easily could've stayed one or two more. My very comfortable room looked out over the snow-covered lava fields that surround the property. The staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. While the guest room comes with a Premium Pass to the adjacent Blue Lagoon, the Reception staff suggested that I...

What more could you want from a room.... Lava field views, spa next door and a room fit for a king! Yes this hotel is not the cheapest hotel in Iceland but it was the best money I have ever spent! As soon as you walk through the doors into reception you instantly feel the stress and stains being released....

This hotel was amazing. Our booking came with premium tickets to the blue lagoon which helped bring down the cost since we had planned on visiting the blue lagoon any way. We stayed here on our final day in Iceland as it is so close to the airport. The best part of the hotel is the private lagoon. What an...

Staying in the Silica Hotel is a truly unique experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. We've got direct access to the lava field right from our room (think that's the same for most if not all rooms). The field was all covered by snow at the time we visited (Feb 2017, right after the heaviest snow Southwest Iceland have experienced in...
