We spent a night in one of the small cottages located in a nice garden around the main building. The bathroom was quite small (especially the shower) as well as the bedroom. However, the surroundings are nice with flowers and trees and we had a nice welcome from the owner. Breakfast was rather limited (no eggs nor pancakes) with limited...

I read that this a place to love or hate. I think this is true because it is not a traditional hotel as all our other stops were, it is a lovely old house with little cabins in the garden. We stayed in one of these. The cabins have 2 bedrooms , very simply furnished with single beds and no...

This is probably one of those places that either you love or you hate. In my case, I loved it. I have to admit it probably had to do with the fact that I spent the night alone in the big main house (Swiss chalet style), which dates back to 1927 and has this haunted house feel. Except for the...

It was a nice visit. The owners are really friendly. The cabins lack a place to sit down but make it up with a beautiful nature and a cozy family atmosphere. We got a nice 4x4 trip that was awesome. The old land rover was nice and the trip to Markárgljúfur was well worth the bumpy ride.

Came across this place randomly as we were looking for a place to sleep in route to SE. The lady who came out of the main house to greet us was extremely kind and hospitable. We stayed in one of the 7 small guesthouses/huts they had on the property. Very cute and charming. Nice beds, nice facilities and a main...

This is a family run place and it goes against my nature to be critical, but I'm afraid I have to be honest. This is a funny little place - tucked away off the road and stuck in some kind of time warp. We took one of the two bedroom chalets for our family of four. I think there was...

Ásgardur is nothing short of lovely. The owners are some of the friendliest people I've met anywhere, the houses are nothing short of charming, and the location is very easy to find--which, I'm not ashamed to admit, put my mind at ease during the first leg of my roadtrip along the southern coast. Ásgardur Inn makes a perfect first stop...
